Hey, So i just got back from the game and one of the funniest things happened. The other teams middie was using this bright red kannon with a HUGE bag, like i mean it could cary his helmet. So we called a stick check and he gave the ref a d-pole, whyich is total BS. But anyway the ref was unsure but he checked it anyway, and the d-pole's pocket was still illegal. I guess the kid's jusdt dumb. Anything like this happen to you guys?

Oh, wow. So his stick that's only purpose was to be legal for stick checks was illegal? Not the best planning.

Sounds to me that he gave the ref one of his teammate's sticks.

I don't really see the logic in buying a d-pole just so you can give it to the ref for stick checking...Maybe a beginner stick like a Brine Ripper complete, but not a d-pole.
I guess I could be wrong though  ....

the officials can check any crosse that is on the bench (yes, including one a coach might holding on to) so your coach may have wanted to point out the attempted chicanery....

If you are going to call for a stick check, do it when the guy is on the field, makes it tough to switch without anyone noticing.

I'm surprised the ref accepted that stick. I want to see the stick you are playing with, that's the whole point.

A kid last year tried sawitching his stick on the sidelines after we called a stick check. So he gave the ref the switched stick. I was actually the only one to catch this, and told my coach we didnt want that one checked, but the other one that was on the sidelines. So we got the original stick checked, and the ball got stuck, of course....3 minute NR

Tricky situation. If the ref didn't see the swap he should not have checked the stick from the sidelines. If the ref did see the swap, he should also add an extra USC if he thought that the player exchanging crosses was doing so to avoid his "real" stick being checked.

Is this correct LaxRef??

You cuold certainly call switching sticks a USC; there's no specific mention, but it falls in line with the USC for adjusting the crosse.
