Alright, so the torque. Kind of a weird head. It has that extra sidewall plastic piece that comes into the middle of the head. When this stick is checked by referees, should the pieces of plastic intruding into the middle of the head be the measuring points, or should it be the widest point at the inside of the plastic?

Under current rules you measure at the widest point of the entire head. For NCAA this will change in 2009.

Augie, I too fretted over the obscure wording in the NFHS rulebook calling for 'inside measurement at the widest point at the top'. LAXREF finally made it simple for me by asking me to imagine a giant ink pad, pressing the front of the head onto that pad, and transferring an ink outline of the head to paper. Then measure that.
The plastic extensions at mesh level in a Torque would end up un-inked and therefore disregarded.
