If a pass comes across the crease from X or something ill snag it. But I wouldnt lunge out of the crease to try and stop it, because if you miss the guy has pretty much an open net to shoot at.

asa general rule, you should never attempt to pick off a pass unless there is absolutely no doubt in your mind that you can succesfully get it. otherwise, you end up way out of position, and if the pass was a feed (if it's near the crease, it normally is) then you are up the creek, so to speak.

i try to bait the pas low above the goal but don't go out of my way to pick off a pass rather i call "check" so that my D theoretically checks the sticks of attack/middies in the middle that the pss might be for. Trying to pick off a pass is also part of team D so follow how your D functions.

I pick off passes as much as I can. I figure that if I pick off a pass, that I won't have to stuff a shooter on the crease.

I pick off as many passes as I can. I am a more aggressive goalie and go for a lot of passes around the goal and get most of them. I think I picked off 56 passes in our last game vs. John Stark because they kept passing right next to me.

if i can get it without putting myself too far out of position then i'll attempt it.

I have intercepted a few passes that were coming from the side to the x. You have to know your angle and whether or not the attacker is getting lazy. Depending on where the passer is, I actually position my self outside off the post a little bit. You also have to be able to defend a double team, because everyone hates a goalie that's out of the crease (especially when you just snagged their pass).

I also try to intercept feeds over the goal. I always seem to get them when the team needs them most. Nothing more exciting than a one goal lead, and then taking away their last chance.

I try to pick off the passes around the crease, but I dont leave crease to intercept a pass.
