The Columbus Landsharks were an expansion team in 2001 owned by former NLL commisioner John Livsey (predecessor to Jim Jennings). When the first Landsharks team moved to Montreal to become the Montreal Express, a second Landsharks franchise was granted for the 2002 season under the ownership of Michael Gongas. They lasted only until 2003 before moving to Phoenix to become the Arizona Sting.

Nonetheless, they played in Nationwide Arena, home of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.

They were also Co-owned by Mike Gongas (The worst owner in the history of sports). Anything that guy touched, pretty much died. RIP SAINTS.

if the nll can find the right ownership, then i'm sure columbus fits into their central states' strategy as they explore such cities like oklahoma city, dallas, kansas city etc. from interested parties. a stable chicago shamrox helps.

i would love to see the landsharks back. they really didnt do too bad as a team or really in attendence, given the fact that there was hardly any advertisement what-so-ever thanks to that ownership. they could still be around if they fired certain people in charge (same goes for the saints). they could easily put a team back in columbus and have it be successful.

yeah the landsharks were the sweetest thing since sliced bread there games were sweet and we would be able to support them easily heck we have (arguably) the worst team in hockey and we go to every game cheering our head off if you've seen a blue jackets commerciall ud understand the following

Grab A Few Buddies And Head Down To The Game
Check out the fastest game on two feet and maybe even a winning team
with doug bill and joeschmo scoring up a storm the stadium will let out a roar
so now what to do is go to the arena grab a cold one and yell ur heads off for the landsharks

YOUVE GOT TO GET IT ONNN COME ON LANDSHARKS TIMEEE
