I don't know what liquid you have been using, but it is definitely not stiff. Maybe if your team is dominated by Brine Truths and Brine Answers, but the STX Liquid is about as flimsy as they come. They are also not durable at all. My friend broke his (he plays defense) in 3 games time, and he hated it the whole time he had it. The "floating sidewall" technology is a stupid gimmick and just makes the head harder to string and probably less durable.

Overall, this is just a bad head. If your friend likes it though, good for him.

The floating sidewall rips constantly and needs to be strung back on. My friend who used it for defense had to keep extra string in his bag to fix it.

Most people i know that had them said that the string holding the floating sidewall was not durable enough and would break almost immediately. Brine makes the answer, not STX.

you should tell your friend to buy stronger side string because as soon as i got my demo version of the liquid i went to a hardware store and bought thin nylon and it hast broken since

the floating sidewall broke and it never really did much. The STX Hype actually kind of worked.

the hype was amazing. it was uber-stiff and you could string the best corner pockets on earth in them.

Performance wise the head was pretty good but the floating sidewalls constantly need maintenance, this wouldn't have been such a big problem it wasn't a pain to restring them.

The floatingsidewalls don't really help that much, if you want a similar wiggeling/wrap around the ball effect, loosen up the first row of sidewall string in a double sidewall string setup.
