If you were playing a normal highschool lax game, not in canada or box, and it was a very aggresive game and the two teams hate eachother. What would you do if you got a perfectly legal hit on some kid and he freaked out shoved you threw his gloves off and took his helmet off. Would you take your stuff off and fight him or just walk away?

my gut would say fight but if i did i probably would get kicked off my team, so i dont think i would fight

p.s. do you have a good story to tell us? if you do i wanna know

i would only fight if he hit me first, if he just through off his gloves and all, i would just watch him and laugh at him, anyway i play goalie, so i probably wouldn't get into a fight.

yea i would only fight if he hit me first, but i would laugh if he was just freaking out dropping his gloves and taking his helmet off, if thats all he did and i fought him my coach would freak out, but my coach would call me a wuss if he hit me and i didnt hit him back.

Actully it was our golaie this happened to. He came out of the goal and laid this kid out. We were playing our rivals and the kid freaked out threw his stuff off an shoved our golie. If it was me i would have dropped the kid..but naturally our team came to the golies defence cuz we cant lose him. It wasnt the only close one to a fight in that game i was really surprised the game wasnt called. It almost turned into a full on brawl...our golie is mayb like 4 feet tall so it would have been unfair but i just kept goin thropugh my head what i would do if i was him like why he didnt just knock that kid out. maybe it was because he is a goalie. So i decided to see what everyone on here had to say.

In middle school, I would have thrown down, gotten kicked out, and complained about how unfair it was. Now adays, I'd laugh it off and walk away.

Well you guys are all in high school. I'm in youth and in my league the most you can do is get kicked out of a game. I have some high schoolers that are assistaint coaches and they all encourage me to fight a somebody this year. Still got one more game plus tourney and game at harvard stadium before a cannons game. So i don't know. If a kid did that though id just throw one strong punch in the face then back away and see what he did. If he kept coming back for more.......... tool on his poor little soul.

Fights are fun. We had a tournament in canada and we played some box teams ( m from Long Island) and anytime they thought we slashed or something, there started a fight. It was sick. I slashed some kid and he punched me in the face. It was great

Depends on the score. I'm generally needed in games, so if its close, I'll walk away. If we are within comeback range I'll walk away. If we are being thrashed/thrashing its brawl time.

Hahaha owned.

If some guy started it and/or did something really bad or was being a total jerk to me then ya I'd drop the gloves. Yes I do think that fighting should be the last resort but on a lacrosse field you can't really talk about your feelings and try to resolve your conflict by talking cause well you don't have that much time. I really don't approve of fighting unless its really really necessary. So if its unavoidable then ya fight back, you don't want your teammates to think that you can't fight back cause they may think that you won't have their back in the future (even though that isn't always true with friends or in the public world).
So go with your instincts.

Since he dropped his gloves and helmet...

drop your gloves but keep the helmet on and go to town. He'll be swinging and hitting your helmet while you get clean shots at his chops. That happened to me twice this season, and nearly a third time (i walked away from that one)

Depends,
Mid season- Probably not. Would most likely just laugh and walk away.

Last game- In a heart beat.

If the team was double teaming a teammate(or if it was just uneven, small guy on my team vs. huge guy) - Defanitly, I would be more likely to fight if it was to help out a team mate than fight my self.

i would probaly back down, i dont like to fight. Haha yea i would. I got in a fight last week with a couple guys beacause the ball was lets say 15 yards way around and i got sandwich checked by 2 defensemen i got mad and then around 2 seconds later one of their guys jacks me in the back trying to run after the ball both hits were AMAZINGLY ILLEGAL . So i run upto him slash at his stick to get him away from the ball then my teammate jacked him in the head and got called for slashing which was perfectly correct but i was so pissed at the other team i just threw down my stick and well yea i won. That team was full of poopoo

I dont bother fighting with people I wont ever see again if I dont have to personally. I see no point in getting a penalty and probably coming home with cuts and bruises over what some kid who I wont ever see again said.

I guess one of the lessons Ive learned is that you cant go after every person who says or does something you dont like, eventually you will realize you are fighting the world.
Some wise words......

I would never fight if challenged for legal hits, but if I was intentionally and illegally hit, it would be another story.

Yes most schools will suspend you not only from the team but also from school. Knowing my coach if i had a good reason to fight hed keep me from being suspended. yeah everyone says that they wouldn't fight but in the heat of the moment you would problay throw a punch at the guy, it easier to say you wouldnt fight then accutaly walk away, our team got in a fight b/c me and my friend were jacking this kid up all day it was all legal tho and one time he came down by the sidelines and we jacked him up but the ball went of us so he got the i went over to ride my defender and when the whistle blew the kid came up and started punching the kid on my team at first he jus stood there but he punched him two or three times so they got into then two of there players got on him two so me and my other attckmen where about to run over there but our coach grab us, so i mean in the heat of the moment you will probaly throw a few punchs on instict

It depends on how good you are, how good he is, and what the situation is in the game. If you're the leading scorer, and you're fighting some terrible Dpole in overtime, you're a fool. If you're some bench warming 3rd line middy, fighting their lead attackman, than you go after him.

I probably wouldn't because i'm to small and would get destroyed, but at a game last spring season against this one team they were making a lot of illegal hits and they hit one of our middies and he got really mad. So he pushed the guy when he got up, then the other guy did the same, then they started throwing punches. One of our attackmen (coaches son) was getting a drink, and when he saw this he came running off and attacked the kid. A few other kids from the other team got into it to. All of them just got kicked out of the game, but nothing else. (this was a regular high school game not box)

Eh I'd say just walk away. Especially if it's a close game. Now If he actually swings at you that's when you swing back. As far as hitting a goalie goes, well if he's out of the crease level him. If I see my goalie get hit outside the crease especially if he has released the ball and than he gets leveled a second or so after he released I'll lay that kid out whether he has the ball or not. I don't let my goalie take hits without returning them and neither should any defender.
