Anyone else have this problem? Especially with Titanium facemask, the sides seem to push out off of the helmet and it looks a lot fatter. I currently took off my facemask and put clamps around the sides to push them back to normal. If you don't know what i mean, look at a goalies facemask towards the end of the year, unless they got brand new helmets (hopkins!!)

I think its because its Ti in the first place, and when they make the facemask, they can't bend it as much as chrome or black steel because of its strength. It's also fatter in the beginning than chrome or steel because its not as easy to mold into a curved shape.

I don't think titanium is going to bend out like that without anything touching it

The TI facemasks are supposed to stick out more- they can't bend the titanium back so it's flush with the sides of the helmet like on the steel ones because it's stronger metal. With a regular mask, all I do to get mine back in place is set my helmet on its side and step on the side of the mask. It's not perfect, but it works.

Stuff like that happens a lot to goalies. When they get hit in the grill over a drawn out time the mask starts to flatten out towards the face and the sides get pushed out. I would think that wouldn't happen to a titanium mask, but I guess they do.

A friend of mine's helmet had a what would be equivalent to a nice bend in a shaft. I'll get you some pictures, it will be easier to understand then.

He's in the white jersey if you can't tell.

It looks a lot worse if you see it in person.

it doesnt look like it because the bars that come down vertically are curvy instead of more straight like on a Ti mask

nope, that is chrome, the Ti mask has no curvy points because it cannot be bent as much or not at all.
