I was just thinking when we are older, what bands of our day would we hear on oldies or classic rock type stations?

Jeez, there's not really that much good stuff around anyomre. Probably the Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, U2, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Green Day. Today's music isn't that great at all.

That's why you see people listening to classic rock, no one can match what yesterdays artists have done. You don't see anyone who are as big as the Beatles or anything today.

sorry tony, hard to take you serious with that avatar lol
anyway, back to topic
i agree, i can't see any of today's bands having their cd's remastered and rehashed etc.
no led zeppelins, no kiss, no doors, no queen
but i'd put my bets on DMB, jet, franz ferdinand... stuff like that

Jet and Franz Ferdinand? For real? Man.... I'm going with Timmy's list on this one. You can't top the classics.

Some stand-up comedian did a bit about this (Nick Swords I think).
Grampa listening to some rap:
"You know, your grandmother was a ho"
We're gonna see grunge, cool rock bands, all of that stuff. Remember how cool the '90's were? How awesome indie rock was? Remember Radiohead? Yep, that'll be my dream station, said Raine as he listened to Led Zeppelin. Oh the irony.

The classic rock radio station i listen to sometimes already has nirvana and pearl jam. And u2 is classic rock, even if they have new stuff it doesnt matter.

The 90's rocked. Maybe some Beastie Boys, Sir Mix-A-Lot, New Kids on the block, weezer, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, Britney, MC Hammer. Oh I hope for MC Hammer, that will be rad. Basically whstever was on MTV.
Whatever, Senor. I see your Zeppelin quote. Most of that stuff sucked you listed. I mean the ROCK of the '90's, not the crap of the '90's. Pop generally blows.

I see you're not picking up sarcasim that well Raine.
I'm staying out of these discussions until I delete all evidence of me downloading Micheal Jackson songs.

I was just thinking of what the future will think of this era musically.

yeah its weird, but im guessing the future will look at our era of music as we look at our parent's era of music. Music will just keep getting worse and worse i beleive.

Nick Swardson.
By the way, like MassLax25 said, no one can match what the 70s and 80s bands have done.
some of my personal favorites include AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Metallica (even though they are a bit newer, they rock. no pun intended...), Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, Queen, Rush.
I think there are bands that match what they have done. I think classic rock is amazing, but I enjoy newer bands just the same. Radiohead is the most creative band of all time, if you ask me.

we know you like radiohead lol, but why do you think they are the most creative band of all time? They are pretty creative, but The Flaming Lips are equal to them in creativity. I really don't think there are any bands today that have or are going to make as much of an impact as the beatles have made, I dont think there has ever been a band that can match what they have done.
The Beatles made an amazing transformation from pop kings to creative geniouses, but I don't think their music was the greatest rock ever. I think The Flaming Lips rock too, except that one album that required you to listen to four cd's at once. The Beatles and Led Zeppelin are the two most epic rock bands of all time, and that's saying something.
