Lately I've been having a hard time budgeting my lunch money. I'm given 35 dollars a week, This money gives me 7 dollars a day to spend on breakfast and lunch, But most days I'll buy breakfast at my overpriced cafeteria for about 2.50, then Order food from the deli that delivers to the high school, this usually costs around 7 dollars.
By the end of the week I have no money left for food, and am forced to spend my allowance on lunch.
I dont have enough time in the morning to eat breakfast, and the food at my school sucks. I've tried Brown bagging my own lunch before but I never have time to prepare it.

Personally, I'd wake up a little earlier and make my own lunch. 35 bucks in your pocket every week. That will add up fast.

I did that before but then my mom started to realize what I was doing and got really mad. To save money at my school though, I dont buy breakfast and get fries for $1 a serving and the serving is equal to like a mcdonalds large fries so I get two of those and a soda to I spend like 2.75 max a day. The fries are the best fries ever too, they beat all the fast food places by far.

Why don't you make your lunch the night before?

You can make your lunch in literally 3 minutes. I usually take an apple, granola bar, sandwich, carrot sticks, and maybe some cookies or muffin or something. You obviously can mix it up a bit but the sandwich is the only thing that you have to actully prepare and it takes 2 minutes tops.
Fries and a soda for lunch is probably not the healthiest choice.

well, if you run out on like friday, why don't you pack your lunch one day during the week, so you can use the $35 on four days, and be able to buy what you want. Also, you could explain your situation to your parents, and maybe they'll bail you out.

I don't worry about it because I'm an active person and burna lot of calories. It also makes up for not eating breakfast and not snacking.
And to answer another question, my mom got mad because she was giving me money for lunch and I was using it for like fishing stuff and I think that was back when I barely ate anything so she didnt like that anyway.

all the food at my school is terrible so i always brown bag it. It takes no time at all to prepare. Or you could bring a granola bar or bannana for breakfast one day

If you buy breakfast at school how don't you have time to eat it at home?
I would just ask your whoever is giving you 35 dollars a week to give you a box or two of Nature Valley granola bars every week and put those in your locker. Eat those for breakfast and I think you're budget should be fine.
I don't eat breakfast or lunch.

Yeah, me too, except my parents don't give me lunch money. I don't wake up early enough to eat breakfast, and I don't do work at home, so I'm always scrambling to finish a project during lunch.

I dont really understand what you want to learn from this thread. You have some basic options, don't eat breakfast, eat cheaper lunch, don't eat lunch at the end of the week, or pack...or steal some things. Not that I'm suggesting it, but it is usually easy, and you wouldn't have to brown bag, nor would you have to change the things you get probably or skip a meal. But it is morally wrong and isn't helping out your school.

Mu comment still stands. I never said you were fat, I said it isn't the healthiest choice. Not eating breakfast doesn;t help.

I didn't take it personally, I just don't like anything else the school has and its the most food for your money.

Yea a lot of the time i do steal bags of chips and stuff. But keep in mind how awful the food at my school is, compared to how good the food is that i can order in.

wait didn't you say it gives you $7/day? Then you said you spend $7/day. So what's the problem?
DJ Death

no he spends $7 a day on lunch alone, when the $7 a day is for breakfast and lunch.

Oh I see, I read it wrong. Ask for an extra $5, I mean you can't have much school left.

yeah i have the earliest lunch at our school: 10:30. needless to say, im not hungry. so i just save my money my mom gives me and eat at home. lax practice isnt at school and an hour afterwards, so i have enough time to pull it off. my mom only gives me $2 though :( your lucky to get 7.
but im not sure why this is such a problem for you. just eat at home, pack or lunch, or just dont spend so much.

I have the same problem sometimes.
Seriously, pack it the night before. Everyone says it. Nobody does it. Leave a reminder on your phone or something.
