Kobe Bryant asked to be traded from the Lakers on Wednesday, a day after calling the team's front office "a mess." He said there was nothing the Lakers could do to change his mind.
"I would like to be traded, yeah," Bryant told ESPN radio. "Tough as it is to come to that conclusion there's no other alternative. It's rough man, but I don't see how you can rebuild that trust. I just don't know how you can move forward in that type of situation."
Personally I think its absurb that Kobe tries to take his problems with the ownership out in public. Going on the record and calling the front office a mess is uncalled for, even if it is the truth. I hope he can go to a franchise where he realizes he isnt the CEO, and just a player, and keeps his mouth shut. Like so many amazing athletes today, he just has a poor attitude.

It does seem like all the amazing players talk the most crap. Except for Forsberg ofcourse. Philly has lost most of their outstanding players because of these reasons. T.O was loved in Philly up until he started all that crap, and so was Allen Iverson.

I guess in certain situtations, being traded can be a good thing. But Kobe is asking a trade for something like being lied to by the FO. It seems more and more acceptable now a days to ask for trade or release.
I don't get what makes these guys think they can get traded anytime. If you work at mcdonalds, you can't just ask for a trade to Burger King. or if yo work at American eagle, you can't be traded to hollister.

Well LA has passed up getting players like Carlos Boozer and Baron Davis, then traded away whatshisface (Kobe's closest friend on the team, can't remember his name) without telling him. If he wants out, they could easily get a handful of decent players. It's essentially his team and he has every right to speak out against the management.

But it isnt his team. He doesnt pay the contracts, or negoiate contracts, or deal with marketing. He just whines enough until the FO realizes he may be the best player in the world so, lets TRY and keep him happy. I think they are starting to realize that since Shaq left, he has done more wrong then right for the franchise.
If Kobe asked for a trade for no reason, you'd probably be just as upset. He was just letting his fans know why he was leaving.

I wonder if he'll elbow his new General Manager across the face with the "natural follow-through" of him signing the contract...

that could be a possibility after allen iverson left for denver. those two sure as hell can't be on the same team.

a possibility? who on the 76ers is good enough to be considered a fair trade for kobe when you have os many other teams stacked just wanting to get him probably (Maveriks, Suns...etc)

At this point, if he is traded, the Lakers won't get any single player close to the talent of Kobe Bryant.
The Sixers could easily get with, a young player or two and a draft pick? That is how trades are made.

why thankyou do you want a nother one
Looks like he got it without asking.
As for Kobe, the Bulls should do anything they can to get him. He would be the final piece to the puzzle.

With what we'd have to give up in trades, it would deplete what we already have. Besides, Chicago (very) rarely tends to take chances with acquiring players who are notorious for causing problems. Dennis Rodman would be an exception, and we didn't have to give up a lot to get him.

the mavs and suns arent gonna trade for him, and even if they do, who are they gonna trade? steve nash?
the sixers have 3 first round picks (thiers and 2 from the AI trade), and i would have no problem with them trading one or 2 and a player or 2 to get kobe. i would imagine that the lakers would want some picks or young players for him, because without kobe they arent winning anytime soon.
