Waxman is not a first team all-american. Period. I have seen her play and she isn't the best goalie of the group.

Is IL going to have an All American team for women this year? The Men's team was announced.

It's questionable. They barely cover the women's side anything.

Arizona's fan poll reflects what a real team would look like. Any All-Star team should look like a team, not just a hodge-podge of names. The coaches poll had 8 attack players, ridiculous. I would put Kristen Waagbo on attack instead of Weymouth.

Anyone know about Girls HS AA? A girl from my school made it for the second year running.

Not to sound like a toad, but there are far too many HS AA to create any worthwhile discussion. The UA AA list is more select, but is still very affected by team politics.

I meant the UA ones, which are generally the best of the bunch. The AA from my school is on the USA U19 team though, so I think it's safe to say she deserves it. :chuckle:

Both also require getting the paperwork in, which for some coaches, is a bit of a difficult task apparently (especially when season is just starting up). Definitely a good group of players on the UA AA, I don't know if I would put them as the best of the best, but it's definitely a lot better idea than HS AAs which is watered down, IMO. It's really just impossible when you don't get to play each other or similar competition like at the collegiate level.
In that case, the UA ones are online at the UA site. I thought you had to be from MD to get it as a junior, no? How was she two time AA (I guess UA? or did you mean USL by this) if you're from CT?

I might have meant USL...not sure on that.

Too many abreviations. If we're talking Maryland..then the answer is no. I've seen plenty of junior non-maryland AA. But I could be reading that wrong...

haha, I figured I put way too many in. I was talking about the UA games. LP5435 said a girl from his school was a 2x AA and asked if the lists were released. Then after you responded with answers about USL AAs, he said he meant the UA All-American list. I was curious as to whether the 2x AA was a USL or UA All-American. He's not from MD, and I thought all UA underclassmen had to be from MD, so I was confused.
I understand very well that you could be a USL All-American as a junior and not be from MD, but I didn't think you could be a UA All-American unless you were from MD.

I think Norris Novak is a first team player instead of both second and third.

Virginia's goalie is hands down better than Waxman. They may have lost in the final, but she played solid the entire game. And I've seen her play in person and she's a great goalie. Not to mention that she just made the US developmental team over Waxman...

I agree with D3goalie9...I rooted for Duke the entire season but as far as goalies are concerned I think her performace against Duke really set her apart from many other goalies when she had some key stops to put Virginia ahead of Duke and into the finals. Kendall Macgrearity (sp?) has been pretty consistent and she still has another year to improve even more. She is probably the best under-rated and overlooked goalie in the country.
