Just checked the website the winners are.......... MATT DANOWSKI AND KRISTEN KJELLMAN! I think most people kind of expected that, although Danowski is one of the few to win it without winning the championship (Doug Shanahan only other). Good job to all the other finalists. Well heres the link: http://www.tewaaraton.com/home/183010.html

Got it before IL..

Glad he won it, he deserves it... Rabil will get it next year if he has as good of a season/if not better one...

i dont thing danowski will come back to play. he will probably go into the draft. well, maybe he will because his father is coaching. i actually thought that paul rabil deserved it more for that game, but i guess it didnt go that way.

^ yea true but they emphasize that it is about the season most of all, and for most consistent play it was Danowski, I'm a fan of Rabil but he had a slow frustrating start (as did the rest of Hopkins). IL has a good write up now http://www.insidelacrosse.com/page.cfm?pagerid=2&news=fdetail&storyid=166008

Haha. I bet $5 on Danowski winning.

In the IL write-up: "Danowski is one of just three players in ACC history to earn both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors."

Don't they mean in the same year? Because I don't see that being so difficult (that only 3 players have done it) otherwise.

danowski wasnt a rookie this year. so, it
cant mean in the same year

No, I think it means he won ACC ROY and POY in the same year. ('04)

Well, maybe he didn't win them both in the same year. I think Joe Walters won POY in '04.

Awsome.

Why are people saying Rabil is a shoe in next year? Doesn't make sense, considering Ben Rubeor is only a junior as well..

I would say Ruebor should be the front runner, (unless Danowski comes back, then hes the obvious choice), Ruebor was in second place for most of the season this year, IMO hes a better player than Rabil.

Word. He was in first place for most of the season, if you ask me. Rubeor was averaging nearly 6 points a game over the entire first half of the season. He was blowing everyone away, and then he sort of faded...

Two shockers. They both deserved it. Im glad Donowski playing one bad game didnt affect the voting, after his amazing season.

I think Rubeor suffered some sort of injury mid-way through the season which hampered him the rest of the way. I'm glad Danowski won it, he was most deserving

Danowski is overrated, Rabil should have won it.

Looks like Danowski's back for another year now. Chance to go back to back Tewaartons if he has a good enough season. Could see Zach Greer getting a shot at it though.

I think Max Seibald should have won it. Guess I'm alone.
He was a strong candidate and the most versatile of the finalists but I don't think a sophomore that doesn't play in the final will ever win it.

he was in the running for some time, but he had a slump. I am sure if he doesnt have another slump he will be up there as a finalist

If Danowski goes back its pretty likely that the 4 of the five finalists will be the same, Danowski, Greer, Rabil, Seibald and Rubeor.

I don't care how good Danowski was in the regular season, Paul Rabil was amazing in the championship game. Rabil had a goal and 5 assists. Rabil also had 5 ground bslls and two outstanding defensive plays. oh and by the way he led his team to a national championship victory. Danowski just can't say the same.

Again, it's based on the WHOLE SEASON. Danowski didn't win tournament MVP.
