2007 Ontario Jr A. and Jr. B Surprises

We are half way through the Junior B season, and the Junior A season is going full tilt now. There have been upsets, illegal players and so on. Anyone have anything to share considering their views at the beginning of the year?

Chamy, I'm actually a little surprised at how well the Missy Jr. B is doing this eyar, considering their newness to the league (well, you know what I mean). I think the Gaels are easily looking the strongest this eyar, downing silencing the Buzz (Oakville) with their backup tender.

i was surprised how weak the east is, eevryone pretty much sucks but the top 3 teams. the far east leader has what 7 points? Madd dawg has also surprised me, i think hes about even with kalvin in starts now.

I'm surprised that Ottawa won a game lol, and against K-W who are mid pack. I am also surprised to see Akwesasne in 3rd place right now. They've played more games than most other teams though, so I don't expect them to stay there.

i agree i went to a afternoon game in markham at the begining of may between the ironheads and the tomhawks. Worst $9 i ever spent, the level of play was brutal. i'd bet that 65% of the passes amde were droped or not even catchable. The mississauga goal was HUGE and just crouched and took up the whole net, not to menten that he couldnt even throw the ball 25 feet. The sad thing is they looked good compared to markham.

hahahahahaahahha.. how bad are we eh.. we've pulled in 4 new kids from the borough and got 2 new coaches who give us a coaching staff with more mann and minto cup rings than probably any other coaching staff in the league.. were still not good but its coming along

Alright, ease up. He can stop the ball, but, his strength is passing, not stopping. He can block the ball because he is big, but, there are many ways to beat him.

The Titans are something like 1-6. They really screwed up. Apparently they lost another couple of players last week who couldn't stand the coaches.

huntsville is the biggest surprise to me lately.. beating barrie, tieing oakville, 7-7 vs gaels going into the 3rd losing 10-7, then dropping a game to us(markham) and beating barrie the next day.. does not make sense to my mellon

Huntsville doesn't surprise me much, they have excellent coaches and that is filtering down into their team.

Whitby is a surprise in A ball. I thought they would be undefeated at this point and I just noticed that Burlington knocked off Peterborough last night, another disappointing surprise. I am also impressed with Akwesasne's record so far.

In B ball, I am surprised that a team that has won only 4 games can be in first place in a 4 team division - the Far East is brutal. This gives a good argument for Tier II right there...

Otherwise things are falling into place as they ought to in Junior B land.

I guess Peterborough is real happy about trading Shawn Evans! What were they thinking?

The OLA forum has this as a done-deal for Bucky, and he's already out west and will practice with the Jr Salmonbellies for a couple of sessions before seeing ome game time.

Honestly, I heard nothing, and I don't what the rules are for inter-provincial transfers/trades/releases. My guess is that is is a no strings attached release for Bucky to take a shot at a Minto, due largely to that the Buchanan's are close to the one's holding the purse strings for the Titans.

I've only ever seen him play box lacrosse.

Brock is a monster. Big, quick, talented with the ball, and ferocious in the box. He can score on the transition, he can stop the transition. He has an acurate cannon for a shot. He plays the short handed set and can be found on the Jr. Lakers powerplay. He's a team leader and can play whatever game is required of him, from finesse passing to dropping the gloves and putting someone's lights out. His brother Kyle is equally effective.

Glad he plays for Peterborough.

Pshh, Myles wasn't the top scorer...only had one goal all season I believe. Barely took faceoffs either...Pat Tallis has those covered. Blake didn't do anything either...1 assist...never takes faceoffs. Them and the Vidoni's are cancers so the loss isn't that big.
The problem is Biff...no one wants to play for him.
