the technique is always stick then body. they go to their knees after their confident they can get their stick down in time.

I was taught to drop one knee with the stick. But I feel unconfordable when I do it so I just crouch down a little. Im always being told to get me body to the ball before the stick.

dropping to ur knees is something that i use to get a low bouncer or a shot from the crease that i know is going low
other people may say it is bad but hey if u make the save who is honestly gonna tell u u should have made it a different way
wat did u mean by

No NEVER do it.... Its impossible to get back on your feet and save a high shot when the opponent team gets the rebound (They can just flick it in or kick it and you won't have the feet to get back up/move). Dropping to your knees make you much smaller. I would just rather step and put my stick down because the stance with that is much more wider. You mean the NCAA finals? I didn't see one goalie go to their knees. They did split saves where I know that the Hopkins goalie does this ALOT. He do a semi split and cover up the 8 hole with their stick.

Also dropping to your knees hurts and its much slower to actually get your knees down using gravity than using muscle to put your stick down.

What exactly is an 8 hole?
