hey guys
here's whats on todays agenda
dye my razer:
mt. dew yellow using kelly green & yellow
speckle it
dye black
then:
string it up with mt. dew yellow mesh & black trim/shooters.
here's the question:
if, (with a piece of jima traditional hard) i throw the mesh in the pot of dye while doing the head, will the color come out matching the head?

it will come out lighter most likely, unless you leave it in there for like a day or so

I don't advise it.
it won't look good.
you should just order a peice of jima that is close to or the color that you want.

the mesh might get messed up, i've heard you can mess up the mesh coating when you boil it. but otherwise i think the color would probably match up.

blehh
has anyone tried this before?
i'll give it a shot, as i've got 2 colors as close as it's guna get coming from jima anyways.
if it doesn't match, i'll string it in something else, if i ruin it, there goes a few bucks, but if it works nicely..GREAT SUCCESS!

alright, the head is in the freezer and it looks AMAZING!
the mesh turned out to match VERY closely, once i take it out of the freezer i'll post some pics..
i might not even dye it black cause it looks wicked as is.....

took it out of the freezer quick to show an image along with a comparision as to how the mesh turned out
the mesh seems perfectly fine, maybe SLIGHTLY softer, but a very minor difference in feel

do you guys thing i should continue to speckle it, then dye it black, or string it as-is?
and how long should i leave it in the freezer for?

i'm worried i'll get a kinda gross color in between
and maybe too much black?
going to do a bag with that green mesh, 2 high straights a nylon and a wide U, all in black.

Very nice, did you dye the mesh from a traditional hard WHITE mesh from jima?

On the mesh? That'd be illegal.

yes it was traditional hard white jima.
i took it out of the freezer, and i'm going to string her up after supper.
i've decided to leave it, i really like the plain lime.
i'll post another couple pics once it's strung, it's thawing atm.
i'll prolly dye my torque black tonight, and string it up later when my jima order comes in, in which i'm stringing my blade up as well, with pink jima, along with 1 neon orange, 1 neon yellow, and 1 neon green shooter hahaha
idk what to put in my torque yet, however

thats really nice. good job. how long did oyu keep the mesh in the dye for and did you use RIT dye?

i left the mesh in the dye for about 10 minutes longer (and no heat) than the head which was ~20minutes
so 20 minutes with heat, then 10 without idk what that would be if you were just dying mesh....
btw i used 1 pack of kelly green, and 1 bottle of yellow, got it to boiling then left it on warm for the rest of the time.
and yea it was RIT
