Making Mesh Harder?

Yeah, I bought a STX stringing kit this weekend trying to string my first head. I did fine and whatnot but It came with duramesh ( semihard mesh ) and I was wondering if there is anyway to make it hard mesh. Not really happy with it and I should have bought hard mesh from an actual lax store and not a starter stringing kit from Dick's. Any ideas on how to make mesh harder? Jw cause I dont want to go out and buy a new hard mesh for 10 bucks when i could save my moolah. Thanks
