I play d-pole but our varsity goalie who was a beast is leaving to play for CNU next yr so our varsity team won't have a goalie next yr. Our freshman goalie this year is supposed to take the spot next yr but he was how do you say 'slow as hell'. I am secretly gonna practice for goalie and come out as I hope a threat and I'm aiming for 2nd string goalie for Varsity and easily 1st string dpole for JV. The coach asked me before I joined the freshman team if I wanted to play goalie next yr and I passed the chance up but now regret it. I need help on gear and tips.
What is the most durable, widest and longest, and best scoop goalie head out there, and overall best reviewed wise, not preference or opinion wise?
What are some tips that can help me with reflexes?
Ty, much appreciation

From experience
I'd recommend Brine eraser as your chest protector, As it is more flexible from the others.
As for a Head, since youre a beginner, i'd recommend the Brine Money or gait Sentinal as both are Very light as Wide. But if you dont like Either, Consider the STX:Eclipse.
And when you get a throat protector, make sure you get the Clear ones.

take shots, work on your stance and outlet passes. the technical stuff can mean all the difference because sometimes even if you arent the best ball stopper, you can still start if you do all the intangibles well. Read the drill posts that are on the forum.

i suggest you looking at the stickys posted here in the goalieforum, about the different angles and what not. Really helpful

for a stick you should get an STX Eclipse and a db803 ICE. It is the lightest goalie setup possible and is most likely the best goalie setup. This setup weighs about the same as a short stick.

db803 is lighter then the ice. anyways on my middle school team i am attack and we dn't have a backup goalie really and our goalie is graduating. he was sick for one game and i played. i had 14 saves on 20 shots on goal. we lost 6-2. i'm thinking of playing goalie next year but i'm the best on my team. any1 have any ideas? right now i have a abyss2.0 and have been borrowing chest pads from the school.

For advice on gear, please post in the Goalie Gear Question Megathread. For advice on drills and workouts, please post in the Goalie Drills Thread. Both are located at the top of the page.
Thanks!
