i play 7th grade and the goalie 1 year in front of me is crazy good. today in practice some d1 guy came he was some kids brother. well any way the clocked his shot and it wa 90mph and this kid was making the save. note this not a high school that is a really fast shot to me. any why he plays amzing in goal he only lets like 5-8 in a game his d is really good but still he makes good save. and to go with all that his brother plays for dII team. he is one year infront of me so i will never get playing time intill my last year in high school what should i do

jk. my advice is to just keep practicing. this situation happens alot when your shadowed by better player, especially the goalie position. just dont be afraid and get better.thats easier said than done but thats my advice

Take up a 2nd position that way if he gets hurt, BAM your starting. If he doesnt you could always play middie, defence, or attack.

You could always transfer schools :bye:
Or you could "accidentally" shoot a ball as hard as you can right at his face when he isn't looking.
Or you could do some of that other stuff people above you mentioned. I recommend starting a new position.

Ultimately, as others have said, you'll need to outwork the guy in front of you if you want to beat him out. Go to camps, train, get lots of shooting practice. Perhaps by the time you get up to HS you'll have a shot at beating him out, especially if he hasn't made varsity by his frosh year. You might be on even footing when he's a soph.
FYI: 10 out of 15 is 66%, not 75%

yea just practice, practice and practice. watch games, videos and play outside and go to camps, who knows he might be bad next year or he might not practice that much because he doesnt think others will take his spot. just never give up.
67% if you round it right :D

I had the same problem.
If you really like being goalie,
then stick with it and practice hard.
And your coach will pick the better goalie to start.
(hopefully)
I know my coach just did it by grade order.
Which sucked.
But anyway, yeah. Practice.
Especially over the summer.
Thats crucial.
