Has anyone noticed anything weird with the heads in stores lately?

I was hoping on buying a warrior helix today but when I got to the store, everything was different. All the heads had different pinches then regular. Answers looked like vapors and so on. I looked at the helix and the front was not like it normally is. It was more pinched like in the front but the back was flared out insanely. The head looked completely diffrent. ( I don't have any pics)

All of the other heads were different but not a sdrastically as the rest. It was very bizzare.


So I was just wondering if anyone noticed these things. Thanks.

what you described sounded like a normal helix. are you sure you were matching the right heads with the right face images(in your head), you might have been looking at a bionic thing it was a truth or something like that

no wAY MAN I was looking at a helix but the hourglass shape was gone and the back looked like they forgot to pich it. ( I'll try and get pics.)

maybe they just named their heads wrong.

it said helix in plastic on the head!!!!!!!! the heads all looked different. The brine heads were all less pinched they were stronger. Stx heads were normal sort of, and the warrior heads were all different. They did not look the same. My frind bought a helix when it first came out it it looks way different.

the helix is supposed to flare out in the back. That IS a Helix. look at an user's pictures of strung Helixes! Second, Many stores put the wrong ballstops on their heads cause the companies will ship them out ballstop-less. So the Vapor probably had an Answer ballstop etc. Unless you are just going insane.... which could very well be the problem! ;)

maybe they are reproducing the heads for 2009 NCAA?? (highly doubt...) They might have gotten warped from shipping... What store is this?

Sammy, the pinch is more like a clutch. Now i'm not saying it's a clutch but it reminds me of it. It has the hourglass shape, but it is alot closer in not was wide. Also the sidewalls are different . normally sidwall stalls are easy, but on this "weird" helix they were nearly impossibele. The bottom wasn't lined up. I know that the flare is supposed to do this, but it was far different than the regular flare.
Thats exactly what a Helix is. It has a huge bottom flare.

^^ The store is south swell lax. I don't care about ball stops, i look at the sidewaslls and what words are made in to the head. But the warping could be a valid reason for this weirdness. And no i'm not crazy. Yes i know the helix is supposed to be flared but these helixes did not look like the helix's from a month ago.

so they warped....... but if you could tell me where on the cyber, vapor, answer, and other brine heads it actually has the name etched in the plastic cause it could jut be me, but I'm not finding any, eh?

Yea I only know of warrior heads that have the name on them.. Not on Brine, I know my E3 had no name and neither does the cyber.

^^ yeah ur right sorry about that. only the warrior heads and some stx heads(proton+) have the names on them. But It's still easy to tall by the sidewalls. Th answer has like an eliptical sidewall. the E3 has the open middle and to supports on the top and bootom.

That would be a Second or later generation head.

Companies (mostly Brine) widen there heads out later on .

yeah, It is probably a later generation of heads cause Brine tends to widen them or just warping from sitting outside some package facility in an airless box with sun beating down on it.

yeah gigo the heads were just wider and i didn't hear of any new genration for the heads. I don't know why but the helix just bugged me? o well thanks for contributing.

I think its because they "unpinched" the helix to make it 09 legal as advertised in many lax magazines. And i think im going to buy one because that would be an awesome D head, Revo Pro already is good but with spikes its godly..... Until 2009 :whyme:

brine widens all there heads after college seasons...every year. remember how a cuber use to be, or the vapor when they first came out. first gen vapors where the best brine head and only cost 40 dollars.

yea with each generation of head they get wider, because if you look at the 1st gen answers they had a nasty pinch, but then the 2nd gen didnt have such a great pinch.

thats just an '07 Evo and Revo Pro, they added the spikes for this year

Those things should definately be illegal in my mind. They hurt like hell to get hit with and they can cut pretty bad.

if your going to spend some money i would try to buy a 2009 legal head so that you can get used to it

maybe its just the shipment ur store got, i now our local place had a ton of deformed heads cuse they all got crushed during sloppy shipping, idk maybe thats the case

I doubt he'll get so used to it that it'll make a difference.

have you ever seen any of these heads in person? i mean the answer being as wide as a vapor, thats because brine widened it since it was warping like crazy. the helix is normal like you described it as well. i wouldnt take pics in a store. your going to get in trouble if you do.
