So, I was talking to Dan Holdridge at the Oswego tournament today, and he said Brine's coming out with a Cyber Pro, and he said it was nice. I don't have much info on it now, just that it's in the works. I thought you guys my be interested in this, so I posted it.

I'll update if I find out more, or if anyone else has some info.

Oh joy, Brine is following in Warrior's footsteps with the whole Pro, 2.0 stuff. Oh well, maybe they will actually make the Cyber exactly the same as the old one, except stiff. Then it would be such an awesome head.

alright, but i havent looked at it all that closely, but it didn't look different. the only difference (held up this cyber and an old one next to it) was the ball stop (brines new fancy ones) as far as i could tell at a glance.

No its just a floor model they have in their showroom.

They have heads and equipment labeled when they show it off.

Thats not a new head, just a regular cyber.

they should make an answer 2.0 or like do an old brine head like a motive pro.

MaKiMaKi13
06-09-2007, 10:57 PM
both the answer and motive are pretty new heads

Why the Cyber PRO, can't they be original? Great news none the less, a head so popular needs to be brought back.

this should be killer, make it stiff, and a better scoop.

maybe a little pinched, but 09 legal.

What's your point? I'm still not that happy about it. Oh and by the way, Gait is doing it too (Torque Pro). They haven't merged with Warrior have they?......:read:

I hate the whole "pro" thing. I think its just stupid.

I hope they dont change alot about the Cyber. I love it the way it is right now. The only thing I can think of is the stiffness/durablility factor. If they fix that, then ill definatly get it.

However, if the new supposed "xcalibur" comes out, and is almost identical to an x2, then goodbye to the Cyber.

the cyber is a lot lighter than an excal or x2. it's also better for face-off's.

that would be preference.

DJ Death

ok well the weight isn't preference, but i guess the face-off part is...a little. i have honestly never seen anybody use an X2 for face-off's though...and i'm talking at all levels of play as far back as 5 years ago when i first got into the sport and started scrutinizing every single photo of every single lacrosse article on every single lacrosse website.

i think it is just because they want to modify a head and not spend the money to make a new mold. i guess pro is supposed to be a word that just grabs your attention and says "hey i say pro so im better" all marketing schemes

Hopefully they'll make it stronger. I've broken three of them now - one across the scoop, one the sidewall blew out, and the third down by the throat. I like the head, but I'd never buy another one just because they are too fragile.

All-American midfielder and face-off man Eric Wedin. And I've seen plenty of X2's on face-offs while playing the sport, not just scrutinizing pictures on the internet.

sorry, you must be my grandpa's age. kidding (i started playing in '02), but around her, no one faces off with it. and hopefully that remark didn't come off the way you meant it to...

turbo48

Well Wedin graduated in 2001 so it's not that far back from when you started playing the game. They're still on the field today if you look around, but a bigger reason that you may not have seen them used by face-off men lately is that they're currently not in production.

And I meant it the way it sounded because you seemed to think you were the expert on the subject because of your apparent scrutinizing of lacrosse photos. I just think people should know what they're talking about and not try to defend their point with a weak argument. Also I find it hard to believe you've never ever in 5 years seen an X2 being used for a face-off.

However, not to "have the last word" here (I'm not trying to get into an argument on this), but this conversation is wildly out of place in the Cyber Pro thread so we'll just let this go.
