Has anybody on here been to any of the tryouts yet? or been invited to main camp? im going to the one in saskatoon in september but i doubt any alberta kid has the slightest chance of making that team im better in 70 percents from ontario with BC kids filling the rest

I am going to the one in Ontario on June 30th and July 1st. I have heard that they do mostly scrimages. I can post how it goes once I get back from it.

The last player outside of BC and Ontario to make the Team Canada U19 team is Cornell's David Mitchell, who hails from Moose Jaw, SK.

For you players in the Prairie provinces, this shows that it is possible. However, you have to really stick out from the rest of the crowd in those scrimmages just to get an invite to the final camp.

Stonewall,

You're absolutley right in your contention that you have to be head-and-shoulders above the B.C. and Ontario players if you ever want to get looked at. When David made the U-19 team Sask Lacrosse had just won their first and only U-19 National Championship. The team was the most talented by far of any Sask team to represent our province. To have only one player from that team make it was a travesty!

So the tryouts are in this format:

Run a lap. Warm up streches (10-15 mins). Goalies warm up while players do some drills (10-20 mins). Start of the first set of game (20mins) They had two games done before lunch (11:40 - 1:00). Games until 4:30 (30mins each). They did the same thing on the second day as well.

There were roughly 100 players there with approx. 20 players per team. There were 5 teams (black, yellow, blue, red, green). Only 23 are making it to the second round.

If anyone wants to know more about the tryouts, hit me up with a PM.
