is there a way to make a lacrosse ball curve from left to right or vise-versa on any kind of shot?

there's also the curve-on-bounce
when you shoot, twist your stick so it's upside down just after the ball releases.
practice around some.
it'll have the effect of the ball bouncing off rubble if you get it right.
as a goalie it's quite hard to save.
it's how some of the guys on UMass shoot, when i went to the camp 2 years back my counselour shot on me with that shot and it made me a LOT better at covering the ball before it had a chance to bounce

yeah, twist the stick in a circlular motion while throwing, starting away from your body and bringing it closer as you move the stick forward

does that makes sense?

We learned about this type of thing in physics, someone asked why a baseball curves more than a lax ball. lax balls are very smooth, they dont grip the air, however they do grip the ground to a certain extent, therefore shooting a ball with spin off the ground would be your best bet.

Use a ball that they use in the NCAA. Its brine, has indented triangles in it. Curves like a monkey.

yeah, it makes the ball curve away from your body to your stick side

Already thread on this with a bunch of physics explainations.

when i throw a really far pass to my dad when we play catch, i throw it underhand/sidearm, and it looks like it curves alot. it will be way off target, and all of a sudden, it goes straight into my dad's stick. either it was windy enought to blow it over or i got mad skill.

I throw overhand and my passes curve all the time.

u mean MLL, not NCAA.

u mean MLL, not NCAA.
no the ncaa uses a ball that has little triangle things in it. the mll ball has little dots on it.

i believe its because high schools use the type the ncaa used before thew brine balls

ncaa dont use the balls with triangles in them anymore....do they? last time i checked during the game, they used regular smooth balls.

the ncaa balls w/ the triangles are only used during the final 4 at championship weekend

i have been able to curve the ball with an overhand shot at times and i think the trick is to (as you are shooting) rotate the stick with your bottom hand. The ball most likely will not come out centered in the mesh but will kind of release on the side of the lip. That motion and the ball coming off weird will give the ball spin and then somewhat of a curve will follow. The ball will not curve drasticly like a pitch in baseball, it will curve a little bit but not that much. Also, the more lip you have (the ball hitting the UNDERSIDE of the lip), that helps a ton because that will give the ball more spin when it is released.

actually beginning this season the mll uses brine balls similar to he ncaa championship balls, they ditched the grippy balls.

Enough with this curve ball crap.

Step 1--learn how to shoot 90+ mph consistently and accurately

Step 2--get a D1 or D3 scholarship

At that point, you can try your crappy curveball.

Until then, just focus on the fundamentals.
