my coach told me last night that a stick has to be 42 inches im not sure if he is just doing that to make sure none of our sticks will be two short or if this is an actual rule this is bantam by the way

He means 42 inches total length. (head and shaft) This is also the general length in field.

There are minimum stick lengths based on the age category. I don't know what they are off the top of my head, but that sounds close. Someone with a CLA rulebook can clear it up fairly quickly.

my sticks fine but im the only kid who uses a 42 and everyone else didnt seem too happy i just wanted to know slinkyspine would probably know ?

Luckily I have a CLA rulebook right here next to me at work... and I don't even work at the OLA!

Anyhow, PeeWee and below 34" minimum, 46" max; all others 40" min & 46" max. Total stick length = shaft+ head.

so in other words are coach was just saying that so no one will get called for having a stick to short

I think that your coach is being overly cautious. I have never heard of anyone calling for, or being called on stick length. The rule is there, but he is mistaken on the actual length, but one has to be careful about correcting/contradicting their coach ;)

i think it wqs cause we got a stick sheck called on us this weekend at a tourney and ya i probably should just incase your him :0

poeple do get called on having sticks that are too short. last year my team was at a tourney and one of our players got called on having a shorter stick
