hi, im new to lacrosse but i've already fallen for the goalie position. i play out side with my brother and friends but its with a small goal, tennis balls, and a goal stick with a plastic shaft and a smaller than average head. im going to camp at Cornell this summer and hoping to get good enough to try out for a team in Binghamton, NY.

well, anyway im looking for any advice, drills, tips on equipment or anything to help me better my skills. i really want to futher my LAX career, im a senior in high-school, and ive already started buying some new gear. i think im ok right now but i have still to really go up against some tough shots.

i know goalies are a sorta elite club of players, but i couldnt see myself playing any other position

thanks for any comments on this..

Hey dude, great to see you're interested in our little circle (pun intended). When I first came onto this site I went through all of the pages in the goalie forum and found TONS of info that I had been curious about and lots of stuff I hadn't thought of. So check through all of the pages and you'll find great information on equipment, training, tips, drills, etc. If you have anything specific you'd like to know, throw it in the searchbar and see what comes up.

I'm originally from Binghamton. What team are you trying out for?

When I said I was originally from Binghamton, I failed to mention that that was 18 years ago. I'm there a lot but I'm not in touch with leagues around there, sorry!

if you dont have the real stick yet i would sugest the eclipse on a dolomite, probablly the best goal stick you will use.

get what you feel is right...if you go into a store and like a shaft, get it, and if you put a head on it, and like that too, get the whole thing. but try many combos before you choose your head. with me i basically went around lacrosse unlimited and chose 4 or 5 shafts and stuck a nemesis and an eclipse on each of them till i found the one i really liked. this was 4 years ago when i picked up the position. havent put the nemesis and sc21 down yet...great combo. live to play the position.

yea i was loking at some sticks like the gait sentinel (spelling might be wrong) or making a custom one but i was gonna use a warrior stick, like 29 dollars, but my friend had one on his attack stik and it bent when he went to stick check a defender stick.. but any suggestion on pads, i was thinking maybe brine erasers,, but i dont know
