HELP MEEEE

so i know that if you want a good black on a white head you dye it all navy blue then black. but i have an all dark purple head. should i still put the navy blue on and then do the black or should i go right to the black

1) boil water
2) bring down to a simmer and add two (2) packets of black RIT dye
3) mix until one solid color is reached
4) leave head in until desired color is reached
5) take out and rinse with cold water
6) dry off
7) enjoy

but to answer your question no you shouldn't need to do the navy blue first
is it just me or has their been alot of talk about the navy-black method on the forums lately?

yeah...there has...i just threw the black dye on the purple so im gunna leave it in there until like 9
