Well, if you livin in Dallas or Oklahoma City, it could very well happen. In 2006, there are rumors already that the National Lacrosse League could pop up in either or both of those midwestern cities. Of course, Mark Cuban is still in the rumor mill in reference to the Dallas team. The NLL is very interested in a midwestern expansion platform, and these two cities have parties who are not just interested, but also capable of making the project work.

What do you think?

There's a difference between knockin, and doorbell ditching.

Last year's "rumors" were just to drum up interest in the area. This year's rumors were close, but no cigar. The reason why I posted this, is because by 2006, there is a plan in place to bring in 3 teams. 2 of which are directly in the Northern Texas, central Oklahoma area. The other is supposed to be in the southeast...probably either Tampa or Atlanta.

Falling short of the 2 expansion teams they were supposed to bring on board this year, the NLL wants to make up for it in 2006 with a central division. Just wanted to "alert" the fans.

Chi-town has. In fact, there are serious (unlike in previous rumors) investors trying to target the Chicago metro area. It may not happen right away. Trust me, the NLL and the MLL want to be there...but the city also has to want the team too.

i heard that the mll is going to put 2 teams in california in 2006 so the expansion west should be a continuing thing for the midwest as well

First, put box on TV in the USA and then ask that question again. There is a chronic shortage of television coverage right now, so its not even a fair question.

It gets decent numbers in Canada, and probably would get decent numbers in Philadelphia, Denver, and Buffalo to start.

Put teams in Detroit, Boston and NY, and those TV markets would probably do OK as well.

Re: the original topic - I'm sketchy about the chances of success for expansion to the Southeast and Texas areas. I think Detroit and Boston are your next logical targets, and then NY, and then eventually Chicago.

With this expansion, though, the league has to get better television coverage. It doesn't even need to be national coverage, Regional coverage would be fine.

Despite our personal preferences (cause God knows that I mirror your wish list, Rockstar), the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City regions are the next on the dockit as of today. Of course, this has an entire year before anything will be made official, but you can be certain that these two cities will be coming up a LOT more before the start of the 2006 season.

The MLL (not to be confused with the National Lacrosse League) is planning a 4 team expansion for the 2006 season. Areas like Denver, Seattle, and two unnamed (yet pretty predictable) California cities are on their list. The Cally towns would most likely be LA and San Fran (or at least the areas around them, like Anaheim and San Jose).

As for boxla, you must understand that like in life, there are so many genres of lacrosse, that its hard to enjoy each one of them. Personally, I do my best to do so, since I'm just a huge fan of lax. But no one genre has captured my interest like box. Its fast, hard hitting, and challenging. I've been playing box for about a year now, and its the most challenging game I've ever played. To anyone who says that box is not real lacrosse is delusional. In my opinion, box is more the natural form of lacrosse, than field ever could be. The only critics of box, are those people who either have never played the sport, or have never taken the time to understand it.

NLL looking at OK City? WHY? No one is playing lax in OK City. UofOKLA doesn't even have a club team there. Dallas on the other hand has is undergoing tremendous growth. They have approximately 20 high school (club) teams, maybe 40-50 youth teams, 3-4 mens club teams, several summer leagues including indoor.

I don't know if the NLL could make it in Dallas, but I don't see how there could be any comparison with OKC.
