I'd say go with 8-10. The channel will give you a more pinched feel and the smaller hard diamonds will give it a smoother release.

All meshes will work. I prefer something softer. Possibly a piece of soft mesh or a broken in piece of hard mesh you have lieng(sp) around the house.

NOTE: These instructions are in reference to the regular soft or hard mesh. Bigger monster mesh may work as well.
First off, you should cut off a vertical column of diamonds on each side to make it narrower (should be 8 diamonds across for every even row and 7 across for every odd row). This way, you have extra room to string the sides.
Then, put the leathers in the first and last holes on the scoop.
Next, put the mesh through the leathers in alternating holes to keep the mesh in place. Also, place a top string in the middle two holes of the scoop to anchor the top of the mesh.
After that, string each side like you would with a traditional pocket.
Finally, place the shooting strings to your desired location. Pound the pocket to where you want the ball to sit.

Stick with the smaller diamonds, but i had one and didnt notice a huge difference between a corner pocket and regular 10d.
