Should pad for a defenseman..?

hey i was looking at several shoulder pads mostly the player club series and the hitmans which ones would be more suitable for a defenseman the 6.0 players club or the 4.5 and the 6.5 hitman or the 5.5 hitman...The protection from each one seems different so i was wondering if one is more for middies/attack and one for defense.

P.S i like to hit people alot i have a football background so i wanna know which shoulder pads will give me more of a pop when i hit and more protection because i severely sprained my ac joint

I have the hitmans 5.0 and I think they are perfect. Not too bulky, but still has great protection on the shoulder.

I would go to a lax store and try them on, because its personal preference

i have the 5.5's and they are real nice. shoulders and chest are greatly protected and the pads are nothing close to bulky. ive only used these, so idk which are best, but id buy the 5.5's.

thank you if ima get them i would keep them on because it helps protect my shoulder which hasnt fully healed, but what are the 4.5 for..they are cheaper in price and different in look do they provide less protection..? are they for attk men..?
