Hi i am new to lacrosse I am going to be a freshmen and i am 14 will be 15 in sept. i know there are other forums about being new to lax and i have read many of them. i know to play wall ball and i do every day with both hands. My main question is what position i should try to play. I am 5' 11'' and weigh about 130 lbs. i don't want to play defense. i don't know if attack is right for me since i am new and don't have great stick control although this will come in time. i would like to be a middie because i want to play offense and defense. the only down fall to this is i don't have very good stamina. i did cross country in grade school for 2 years but my stamina is still not great. what i want to know is if there are any really good drills or workouts to do besides wall ball and what position do you think i should try to be.

i'd say attack. your stick skills will become better over time. do wall ball, ground balls, and shooting.

Do what ever you want to do. We can't tell you what position to play. You can always improve your stick skills and you can always improve your endurance.

try every position possible, maybe even goalie, you never know. the endurance thing will be addressed, it will be addressed by your coaches by wind sprints, but i would suggest to do some of your own endurance training in the offseason becuase it will prepare you. there are many threads for improving stamina.
welcome to lacrosse, the forums, practice hard, and play hard! if your dedicated enough you will see big improvements.

run more and harder if that is the case.
just try running long distances then if you have no problem with the short ones.

to improve dodging: find some trees that are about 10 feet apart and do different dodges inbetween them. yes you will look like an idiot doing this but you will get a lot better at doges.

I have three trees in a row in my backyard that are like 10ft apart and I always do this, and I feel like a retard when I do it.

Try some middie and some attack. As you already said, wall ball yourself into the grave.
Start running 1-2 miles everyday, just jog them to start and up the tempo every couple of days, should gradually improve your stanima. Also, practice your dodges, and scooping on the run. I know kids on the varsity team who still have trouble scooping at a full on sprint, its kind of sad.
Also, you may want to beef up a little. I'm 5' 6", 150 pounds and I still get hammered a lot in ground ball scrums. Not saying its essential, but it could help.

in our team most beginners are middies.
reasons:
You always need middies
as a middie you learn most aspects of the game
For the stamina: Runn long distance. And do some long sprints (150 yrds 200 yrds 300 if you feel good) and do Ints and outs. Meaning sprint 30yrds then switch off for 30 and jog then go on for 30 and so on.

if you really want to play mid than go for it... work on your stamina over the summer...
