Hi i am new to lacrosse I am going to be a freshmen and i am 14 will be 15 in sept. i know there are other forums about being new to lax and i have read many of them. i know to play wall ball and i do every day with both hands. My main question is what position i should try to play. I am 5' 11'' and weigh about 130 lbs. i don't want to play defense. i don't know if attack is right for me since i am new and don't have great stick control although this will come in time. i would like to be a middie because i want to play offense and defense. the only down fall to this is i don't have very good stamina. i did cross country in grade school for 2 years but my stamina is still not great. what i want to know is if there are any really good drills or workouts to do besides wall ball and what position do you think i should try to be.

if your going to run everyday dont try to do the same things everytime...maybe work on footwork one day and then acceleration the other....and if you can just bring your lacrosse stick with you and cradle with a ball and stuff

5'11 130? ur a bean pole. Either you are extremely skinny, u havent checked ur weight lately or your actually 4'11 b/c that is nearly impossible. My brother is 6'0 6'1 and the lowest he could get for wrestling was 155 and he looked anorexic. But back to your question tryout all the posistions. Play in a summer league or pickup games before your season begins and test each one. What ever you do, don't just get thrown into a position. Play somethign that is fun to you.

I've seen guys this skinny plenty of times. They have no meat on them and they have really small bone structure.
Personally I'd say play middie and just get in shape. Either that or bulk up 100 lbs and play closeD

Yeah to play middie you need stamina so i suggest work on sprints and long distance running everyday. when you do this cradle with both hands in every way. you know one handed left and right, both handed left and right, walk the dog left and right, and the way your stick is before you shoot both hands. If your gunna play attack, become familiar w/ the roll dodge and face dodge. the face dodge is a MUST espically if your ni the tigh space to the side of the net. the defender will run at you, and a face dodge will put them past you give ing you a free shot at the net. Your pretty big to so that is good for any position.

I'd go with middie. That way you can play both offense and defense and get the basics of both. Stamina will come naturally with playing middie. Then, if you want to specialize in offense, you can go to attack once you get your stick skills better. Or, if you change your mind, you could go and play defense.
