Another thought:
You will want a full cromo bike, not hi tensile steel.
Its stronger and lighter weight.

just wondering...how did you manage to spend 1000 bucks on that...?
i never got into the freestyle part of BMX, but i have been racing since i was 5 or 6. i have always used GT bikes, except for one bike i got was a diamondback and it was horrible compared to the quality of GT. i think they make freestyle bikes too, and if they do, i am sure you wouldn't be disappointed if they make em like they do their racing bikes...
lucky you...

I'll question that statement  It's a nice bike for a complete BUT you can build better. For a complete bike though you can't go wrong :dummy:

Building a bike ground up actually proves to me more expensive than thought..Thats if you want a pretty light bike but strong parts. Heres what I got.
Frame: 05 Kink Freebird 20"tt
Fork:Odyssesy race fork
Headset: A-headset
Stem: Animal Jump-off
Bars: Odyssey Skim Milk
Grips: Animal Edwins
Pedals:Primo Tenderizer
Crank: Profile euro 3-pc(titanium spindle)
Bottom bracket: Profile Euro
Sprocket: Kink Light 30t
Chain: standard KMC
Seat: Mosh Digital 3
Seatpost:Coalition
Tires:Primo "the wall"
Front Rim: Odyssey hazard lite
Front Hub: Odyssey Vandero race
Rear Rim: Odyssey hazard lite
Rear Hub: Odyssey hazard cassette W/ 11t Ody driver
Pegs:Terrible one( horrible pegs)
I don't ride with brakes(never have never will), thats why they are not listed if wondering.
As you can see the list is pretty long of bike parts all bought brand new at the time.It adds up quick! My bike in the pic looks like crap because Ive owned it for 3 yrs now. Its taken loads of abuse soo and served me well. I'm in the process of building a new this summer though.
Heres a small crappy little clip of a gap a did a couple of years ago. Its about 6 ft tall with about 4ft of grass to clear to the street. Kinda scary considering I would have gone into oncoming traffic if I messed up at all. It was taken from a digi cam so the quality is no good.

Do you ride with no brakes whatsoever, or was your bike missing the rear brake just while the picture was taken?

Ive never had brakes on my bike. its a personal preference of mine. plus they are a pain upkeep and keep dialed.

Does the rear hub (Rear Hub: Odyssey hazard cassette W/ 11t Ody driver) freewheel? Can you stop pedaling for brake action? I haven't read all the posts in the thread, so I don't know what sort of BMX you use the bike for. I never rode BMX. I have a couple of lousy scavenged (from trashpiles) BMX bikes suitable for commuting, but that's about it. They are unremarkable in every regard.

Freewheels allow to ride fakie(backwards) without having to pedal. the cassette has nothing to do with the brake action meaning if you stop pedaling you are still moving.

Nan Free COASTERS allow you to ride fakie freewheels you still have to pedal backwards.... I think....
