since im a middie it is really important to have the ability to shoot while on the run. im just having trouble getting enough torque and power to shoot this way effectively. does anyone have any tips?

you have to twist your body and uncork it all the way through the shot make sure to be using all your muscles in your back and hips along with extended your arms far and away from your body

if ur on the run i hope that u would b shooting overhand but if u have a fast break and ur alone extend ur arms and hang ur stick then use ur hips, legs, and arms in one motion for the most torque

ok say u have ur stick in ur right hand so ur coming across the field from left to right when u feel u have a good angle to shoot u want to step wit ur left foot and shoot now u want to come out of it backwards but dont force it...if u r doing it right u will come out backwards from momentom (sp?)...after a while it is natural

i saw it in the ilm(inside lax magazine)

when you are running go like you are start shooting overhand then while in the middle pf your shot shoot 3qrtish kinda sidearm and turn your hips

the key to shooting hard on the run is the whip in your stick. because you are moving the ability for you to put all your arms into the shot it not there. your core (abs and hips) create the power you use. i found that when i shoot on the run i do not have time to square up to the goal and take the "textbook shot". my process is twistin the hips and creating a whiping action all the way through my arms and flicking my wrists to add even more power. this is my technique and i shoot mid 80s on the run and low 90s still...good luck

When you're running with your forward shoulder pointing towards the goal you step forward towards the goal with your back foot this should twist your hips and square them with the goal, then just let upper body whip around while simultaneously following though with your stick. If you do it right you should be back-peddling out of it.

I always thought, when shooting on the run you should always step with the same foot your shooting with?? am I wrong??

the backwards guy is right, it will feel awkward, but you gotta get your back and abs into this shot, your legs aren't planted so you lose any momentum generated by your hips, its basically a really furious twisting of your uppper body with a wrist snap along the way, and if you put all you can into it, you will end up backpedaling while watching your shot
