[vacation] Block Island

So, this coming sunday I'm going up to block island for a week. I went last year, but only for 1 night and it was kind of lame, as I didn't really have time to do anything.

I'm just wondering if anyone every goes there, is there now, and what there is to do there. I know swimming and the beach and such, but what else?

I'm in the same boat as CS. What/where is Block Island. Obviously it's an island but..

theres really not much to do there, besides the beaches. There are two lighthouses the north and southeast lighthouses, you can go see those. If youre a history dude then go see the Mohegan bluffs which was a battle between two tribes where the mohegans were forced off a cliff to their death

Like in the movie last of the mohicans, or were these mohegan indians. Anyway the place's website seems like it is all about tourism, but without anything fun to do there. Fishing, Boardwalk (if the have one), sleeping, going to the beach, going to cool shops, other touristy stuff.

Thats pretty disappointing. Hopefully the rodes wont be sandy, supposedly theres some decent hills for longboarding.

BI is ill if you go for a day, which i do every year when i go up to RI for summer. the striper fishing off the coast is unreal in the summer if thats up your alley, but its pretty cool to just cruise around the island on a bike and check the scene out. and def swing by ballards beach on the wkend if you want to see some bombed ppl

That's it for fun, renting a bicycle is big on Block Island and staring at the stars... I'm not joking!

Yeah was asking my dad about it. He said it is beautiful, but his description didn't seem like there was much for a kid to do there.
