Having a party at my new house this weekend and looking for some chill tunes to have on in the backround.

wow you're all over the spectrum with those choices.

my choices are:

rock:
weezer
jimmy eat world
spitalfield
copeland
the postal service

r&b/rap:
tribe called quest
jamie foxx
kanye
common
usher

all of these are overall pretty mellow and laid back. it's all on the song choice though.

moondog, as usual, is on point. ween is a HUGE pull, but all the bands laxobsessed listed besides RHCP aren't worth playing. you should aim for older songs that people like to dance to, Outkast is good, most people like crap rap radio trash, butif you load up on some decent biggie/2pac/old school rap/dance music before it became dance music, you shold be good. i recommend anything familiar to people because most people aren't open to new music, which is a shame. j5, aesop, rjd2, tribe, outKast, bob marley, sublime, incubus, and old school Rock and roll are things people recognize and like. under no circumstances should you let any Bia tch take control of the iPod thinking she knows what people want to hear. guard the DJ process with your life, bro.. good luck.
