Hey guys, I've been wondering where people like to put the pockets in their heads, especially for Defence/Longpoles. so if you could list your position what type of head you use, and where you put the pocket and why, that'd be awesome. Thanks.

I play Longpole and I like mine mid/low. Has a good feel for me and I find it perfect.

I, personally, like a mid pocket. I find it has a nice feel for the ball. I don't play longpole, but I've heard people say that they don't want any whip, or very little whip, so a low pocket should be good. BTW, i play attack.

I like my pocket in the middle because I play middie. It has nice hold, you can still cradle one handed, and you can really wind up for the outside crank

I play attack and I love my pocket towards the middle of the stick, I love the feel and the way it throws. Pretty much all the poles on my team have it in the middle-low part of their sticks. I definitely wouldn't recommend a high pocket.

I have my pocket high. It has great hold and throws perfectly, with a bit of whip, but still with the possibility for touch passes. A lot of whip is determined by shooter set-up, which I have mine with 3 across. The high pocket gives it ridiculous hold however, and I do like to crank on some shots.

I like it the same as AnotherLaxFan. Very high with lots of hold and whip. I love my sticks with whip because of the great amount of hold that usually comes with it.

I play defense but still use a midpocket with a nylon right under my topstring for less whip. I like it mid so I can pull better fakes when I'm clearing.

I play longpole/defense and i mainly try to stick with a mid-low pocket. I like using a low pocket for the hold when going through traffic, and i like the mid because it gives me the natural throw that ive always been used to.

i put my pocket about midway on the head and it sits right on the bottom shooting string. I have alot of whip but i like to shoot so its nice, feeding is kind of difficult sometimes though.

I play attack (X mainly but I move around) so I like my pocket to be mid or mid high but when I want to cradle one-handed I like the pocket to drop down. My pockets are ussualy baggish.

I play pole / lsm and I've got a mid-high. Very little whip and great hold. Nothing hurts the opposition's feelings like having a pole put a nice little move on them and break away.

great minds think alike. i have a mid/high 6D pocket on my pole, for breaking kankles. and for when i play mid i have a mid/low pocket-its easier for one handed cradling and such.

i play midi and i like to hae a medium or high pocket because the ball gets right into my stick when i get a pass and the shot speed is a little faster

I play defense and i used to use i kinda low pocket intil i got pulled up to varsity half a season into my career and they put me in at lsm for freshman year. so when i bought i nicer stick for varsity i put a mid pocket in a helix and never want to go back to those terrible low pockets ( last year i got a pre-release prototype helix from a rep).

i play attack and i like a bag, with the ball sitting in the middle when it is horizontal. i like a bag because they have a good amount of whip, good hold, and i can still one hand cradle with them. lately, i have been using a pita pocket, which is basically what i just explained, wrapped up into a nice looking pocket

i like a low, mid pocket. almost no whip. 3 strait shooters.
b.c: i like going 1 handed vertical, and also cant stand throwing with whip...not sure why.
A play attack and have a torque.

A mid/low pocket is best for poles. You can get good hold without any whip.

Defense--Edge on a Titan Pro--mid pocket with ridiculous hold for one-handed dodges, accurate feeds and shots
Att/Mid--Evo Pro on a Titan Pro--high pocket with lots of hold for snap passes and powerful, accurate shots.
Goalie--Eclipse on a Titan Classic--mid pocket--deep, but with a pure release, for easy catching, yet pinpoint passes, and a relatively deep bag for carrying the ball and making an impact on offense.

long pole- low pocket works best for me
shorty- high pocket because I can use them the best
goalie-mid pocket, performs the best in goalie sticks

I play attack-- I like a low mid pocket so I get some of the features that low pockets have (easy 1 handed cradling, good feeding pocket, more protection), and the features that mid pockets have (have some similarities of a high pocket, still protective, etc..).
I string my pocket with lots of hold and string my shooters to have a little whip which adds a little bit more hold overall. It throws great.

I'm also a middie with a middle pocket, its perfect for one handed cradling and when on the run it gives you just the right amount of whip to give you a good shot to the side your running from.(really chokes up a goalies hands)

I'ma close d longpole, i use a pinched Edge x with the fingers removed. (i call it my 8 dollar e3) I like it mid/low. It gives it a nice hold and it allows for a really nice long toss. I've got no problem using low mesh pockets either.

I always put my pockets down low. It allows for great one-handed cradling and minimal whip so I can get a quick pass off and a quick shot.

pocket placement can affect whip and hold, but you can adjust your shooters to give you the amount of whip you want with a low or a high pocket.

high mid because it almost like a high pocket but without as much whip and awesome hold if i string it just right. Quicker shot and earlier release.

i'm a middie with an old STX AV8 head that i dyed black and green. i strung 6D mesh on it with two shooting strings straight across the top on the 2 nd 3rd row. i put the pocket right on the bottom shooting string and it shoots great. it cradles great too. it also has an amazing hold that makes cradling and face dodges easy.

Mid-high to High...
this placement helps keep the ball on the shooters or just below them. it allows me to have a very quick and accurate pass. the pocket also allows me a solid wind-up which leads to a faster shot, and a shot that is not easily picked up by the goalie...
