One of my teammates asked a question that I couldn't answer. What are the different "specializations" that Attackmen are labeled as and what do each of them do? I was able to name them, I just couldn't explain them. (Ie. point, x, crease, etc.) so I was hoping you guys could help me out.
The type of answer that I'm looking for is along the lines of this for example:
Middy- runs up and down the field playing both offense and defense...
Attack- responsible for offense and riding on clears, needs to be able to use both hands to pass, catch, shoot...
Thanks guys!

X is generally the best feeder on the team. This is the position played by attackmen who don't necessarily have the "attack mentality". They generally don't try and dodge 3 guys to take a shot; they are responsible for setting up the offenses and being generals on the field.
Crease is generally a stronger player who can impose his will on the front of the crease, being he can take hits, as well as push around poles who will be covering him. They need to be able to catch in tight situations and have great quick sticks to be useful..
These are the main two attack positions. While great players can do it all, it is generally helpful for players to know their place and their role on the field

Sorry, I was just making this thread quick. I actually just got switched to attack from middie so I know just how hard it is to be the workhorse.

Thank you, that was more or less exactly what I was looking for.

Often players at X are sick dodgers as well...bait and inside roll can lead to alot of goals if you are quick enough.
In upper level lacrosse, attackmen rotate around alot to create room, so really you need to be able to see the advantages from being on different parts of the field at all times.
