Double Dyed heads /w Spankin New Pockets

First attempt at a Traditional style pocket here, it's a Pita. Used sidewall for the center coil cuz i didnt have enough crosslace, so tell me what I did good/bad there. And then I have my Black Answer with matching shooters with a meshy.

im feelin that answer, pita in av8 looks a little crooked on the right side, but overall good

my answer is almost exactly like that besides it is dyed with orange and white splatter, same stringjob, i love it. i might dye my next, all black like that, looks pretty sweet. And i havnt really played much with custom pockets so i really cant comment much on that, but what i do know about customs, i would say that it looks prett good. How does it throw?

Havent thrown with the Pita yet except at my couch but it seems to have good hold and a some whip after a few adjustments.

on the Pita you have to interlock the center twists with the crosslace between the first and second and third and fourth. Its hard to put into words

I thought I did something wrong, is that why they wont stay in one place?

Can someone post pics of how it should be or explain it?

there is a tutorial on how to interlock knots correctly. the first time i strung a pita i didnt interlock and had the same problem so just check out that tut and you should get it right this time

I have a question after throwing with the Blue Pita-

The mesh kinda folds over when I throw with it, like really soft mesh would I guess describes it. Is there anyway to make to pocket more stiff or at least not all floppy. If you dont get what im saying I can post pics.

Pinch on the Av8 is uneven, left side is more pinched, missed a connector from the inner leather to the middle coil, didn't interlock.


Yet these are all common mistakes. Restring it and make sure you don't skip any connections, and MAKE SURE you interlock. Not interlocking can cause the pocket, in fact it will, destroy the pocket.

Yeah you don't interlock on the Pita. Check out the Interlocking knots tutorial(in the tutorial sticky). You also skipped a knot. Make sure that all your knots are even and you did the same amount on each leather.

However I like both of the dyes, and that answer looks sick. I would totally play with that.

Redid the pocket so that it interlocks and it fixed that 'folding over' problem. What I meant by that was the pocket bunched up because it was really loose. Throws with almost no whip which I want to fix but it is a lot better now that it interlocks.
