I am curious about how many people on the forums race triathalons? If so, what distance do you race?
I hope to do the xterra close to where I live this summer.

Sounds like fun, I'll probably do them when I am older. Right now I'm only 12.

My 9 year old cousin is huge into triathalons. He does a half mile swim, a 10 mile bike ride and a 3 mile run, I believe. He has taken first place in his age group on multiple occasions. I promised him I would do one with him someday, so whenever he wants me to I will participate.

I max out at half marathons for now. I plan on doing the Long Island marathon next May. Ill see how i feel after XC see this year. Im not that big on Triathalons. I prefer training for just one event.

im actually doing my my first one sometime in july, I dont remember the exact date. Technically, its only a half triathalon, but I figure that's good enough reason to vote "no, but I am training to"

It is (triathlon) and they are a blast. Be prepared for your first open water swim. I had people pulling me under by my ankles and swimming over the top of me. I did my first one in 1980 before it was a big sport.
