I personally use one nylon at the top and three strait hockey laces. Its results in a great pocket with awsome hold and almost no whip. The only time i have used more than three is when i strung up a homegrown pocket because its really hard to get the whip out of that pocket for some reason.

in trad pockets I use 2 strait shooters and a nylon for an uptop pocket but for a lowdown pocket I use 3 strait shooters and a nylon depends were the pocket is going to be.

Depends how much whip you want. Everything is different for different people. If you want a little whip use three shooters that get slightly tighter as they go twards the scoop. You want to make a nice slope for the ball to come out of. If you want alot of whip make maybe 1 shooter or a shooter and a nylon, both tied very tightly.

my friend said they should have the same amount of wraps on each side(i'll get pictures up soon), but he's never strung traditional before.

so should i have the same amount of wraps?

To make a stick have less whip you can also put the pocket lower down on the stick. A higher pocket has less space on the stick to release so it has to go at a steeper slope to make it over the plastic, while a lower pocket has lots of time and space (the whole length of the head) to make it over the plastic. This makes for a less steeper slope for the ball to go up. With these two pockets you get into release time.
With a higher pocket you have a more crisp, quicker release because it is closer to the plastic and literally gets there faster. A low pocket takes more time to get to the plastic because it has a longer distance to travel. The length of one head may not seem to be alot, but it matters. My friend has all his sticks with the pockets down at the bottom, while I have mine up at the top with alot of whip. I literally can't throw with his sticks; the ball goes soaring over my house and into the street.

If you haven't guessed a pocket in the middle of your stick has a good balance of both of these things if strung correctly.

It really dosen't matter. As long as it makes a nice even slope for less whip or a steeper slope for more whip. If you do them correctly then they should have the same amount of wraps, but it's not gonna hurt the stick unless it makes the shooter more tight on one side than on the other. Then I bet you would have problems.

I have 5 shooters in my trad rig. I love it, I have a high pocket, but the shooters reduce the whip a lot.

my question was, should you have the same amount of wraps (i'm not talking about whip)? see the picture for what i mean.

The red circles show where i'm most concerned if i should have same amount of wraps. the one have 3 wraps and the other has 1 1/2

the blue circles show where my friend said those should be exact same wraps when i'm off by one...

I use weaved shooters, I don't like barrells, but I think it's important to have it symmetrical.

I think this would make a difference. You should definately fix that; it won't take more than 5 minutes.
