Anyone else going? It's from July 18th to the 21st, it should be a blast, and freaking HOT.

Post who you're going with, maybe we'll have a TLF pickup game.

I'm going with the XL Starz Elite team.

I'm going with LaxDawgs Elite. It sucks that it is no longer in Sonoma. I think the reason they changed it was because there wasn't enough room for everyone, b/c laxdawgs last summer had to stay in a hotel while everyone else stayed in the dorms.

Hey cali feeder, is Jay Pfiefer still an XL coach? He was my school coach last year.

cali feeder
07-06-2007, 01:16 AM
Yeah, there were A LOT of kids at Sonoma, and everyone stayed on-site too. I think everyone's staying in hotels this time. Sounds like it's still gonna be just as hot though...

You guys got...third at Sonoma? Or was that Lancaster? I remember that ridiculous Maryland Mermen team took it all against Seattle in the final. Look forward to playing you guys, we have a real young team though.

Jay used to coach for XL, I don't think he does anymore. I could be wrong though.

With Zeolla out, XL does not have a strong enough attack to do well in Temecula

Zeolla...doesn't...play....attack...

Nice weather outside, cooler than yesterday and you are sitting by your computer ready to instantly reply to any post that hits the board? World of Warcraft?

Probably meant the front six, the attack can't play on their own, they need the middies.

Just got home from summer school (ugh), I'll be out later tonight. World of WarCrack? I'd rather not become a statistic... :chuckle:

You're interpretation is probably right about the front six. I thought he meant that Zeolla played attack.

the reason it's not @ sonoma is cuz they're redoin all the fields wit turf. it shud go back there next summer or the one after

Who is this? Position? School? Elite or Highschool?

westlakelax17
07-14-2007, 01:36 PM
I also think its not at sonoma is because the tournament sponsors/ owners can make more money because they don't give us free food and a place to stay, but its still the same price as last year to play. Also this venue was probably a lot cheaper to rent out since its only a bunch of soccer fields, not at a university.

A question for the other Starz teams out there this week. How large of a area does your Starz team pull from? How many schools or cities? Our team was restricted to Oaks Christian and the club teams from SCLA. We are a total of 8 teams (5 cities), only one team being CIF.

Half of our players got some of their gear stolen this afternoon. Sticks, helmets, gloves and pads

cali feeder
07-21-2007, 08:17 PM
Definitely a fun tournament, lots of good competition.

Yeah, about half our team got their sticks stolen (me included), and some helmets, gloves and pads. And housekeeping stole one of our midfielder's wallets.

I think we played Socal laxdawg's team in our division's championship. We won, but it was a good game.

Livinlegend's Razorback team was good, definitely a different style of lacrosse. Film session with you guys was pretty funny.

Hope to see you guys there next year.

07-21-2007, 09:41 PM
Looks like all the finals were somewhat one-sided.

On another note, for the Warrior division winner, other than 2 players, the team was made up from a club league and not CIF teams.

califeeder did you play for starz elite i think they were called, and we beat you guys 6-5 or something on the first day. and we would have played again but we played like garbage and laxdawgs and lost by a goal, and we walked all over them the first time we played them... and i think we are going back next year but were going to play in the top division we could have competed this year but really had no idea what to expect and didnt want to go down there and get walked on

Yeah, I played for them. (I was the guy who cross-checked one of your guys in the back and he went down for a bit:banghead: ) I wish we could have played again.

What number were you?

How many recruiters were actually at Temecula? Did they watch games other than the Adrenalin division?

cali feeder
07-23-2007, 01:26 AM
Seemed like there were a good number of recruiters there. Nothing too big though. I picked out a few watching our games, and I think I saw a few during our championship game as well.

i wore #18 i played attack and got the winner i think, i was the guy we saw during film session try to go through your entire team and get rolled hard. definatly wanted a rematch with you guys, your defence was the only team that seemed to know what they were doing everyother team we just ran this little dish from behind and they never figured it out

cali feeder
07-23-2007, 07:28 PM
Haha yeah, I remember that. That coach who was doing game film with us let you have it! Thanks for the compliment on our defense too; they're pretty young, so its good to hear that they know what they're doing coming from another team.

A rematch would be awesome.

livinglegend
07-24-2007, 07:49 PM
yeah we were up 7-1 or something against laxdawgs and we sorta just started goofing around and before we know it they had won.. it was pretty terrible. i talked to one of your coaches the older guy with the big hat and he really wanted a rematch to. did you guys win the tournement?

LAX_Conejo
07-24-2007, 10:52 PM
Yes, 7-3. We wanted the rematch too

livinglegend
07-25-2007, 01:13 AM
yeah it definatly would have been fun. you guys were the only team that we couldnt just walk all over.. which i learned the hard way and you saw during film session. i dont know if this it at all possible but were planning on having a fall tournement up north this year and were looking for any american teams to come up and play

cali feeder
07-25-2007, 01:35 AM

Did they only take from the short stick bags? I know the long poles did not get their sticks stolen but did then take anything else from the long polers?

As far as I know, no. I don't know of any long poles that got their stuff taken.

Longpoles are generally larger, less accommodating of playful funnin', and prone to kick arse when befuddled.

I suppose that those MO boys were just being circumspect.
