New Format?

What happened? I checked a few minutes ago and TLF was down. Now everything looks different. AND THERE'S ADS!!! Did IL really redo all of the forums?

whoa this new format is weird, everything is bigger. and my computer doesnt load it as fast, its kind of annoying. o well, nothing i can do about it.

And I can see everyones post count...I thought that idea wasn't even up for discussion

and i got my avy and sig back...but it wont let me see my warning points..did everyone start over with 0?

I absolutely hate this format, no offense but it takes me forever for me to load. I do not like the advertisements on the side.

It will get some taking used to, but overall this is going to be much better than the old site, features wise at least.

Also, make sure any posts regarding the change go in this thread.

I like the new format/stuff, except for the fact that right now, my computer is taking forever to load every page. I assume this is just some kinks that need to be worked out cause the format was just put in.

this is actually alot easier to use.... it's beginning to grow on me. and the ads help keep TLF free. embrace them.

woah seeing post counts ? cool ive never been able to see them before cause i joined recently but its cool i didnt think itd ever happen it seemed like the mods were so against it but thats cool overall i liek the new format but i dont like the loading its slower although its getting faster i like the IL bar up top too, but im not liking the adds.

Yeah, I really don't like it. It takes longer to load, but it's mostly I'm just not used to it. I really dislike the ads, but if it's necessary then I guess we'll have to deal with them.

I just don't understand why they brought post counts back. Wasn't there recently a thread sayign they would not even consider bringing them back?

This format looks somewhat cooler, but it just takes so long to load that it gets kind of annoying. I think it will end up being better. I'm just trying to figure out what all the icons stand for right now, but it doesn't seem too bad. My only complaint is the time it takes to load, but other than that it seems pretty cool

this new set up is horrendous though, is there a way to see it in the old interface?And about the ads, anyone that hates them, use Camino Web Browser.It blocks ads.

I just realized that you can't click "go to newest post" when you are browsing new posts and you want to go to the latest post not just the last page. Also doesn't tell you who posted last post. Just a tid bit I noticed.

Overall I like it, i think the icons next to the thread title are more user friendly, I dont know. Plus I like seeing how much posts people have again i missed it. I don't really understand how it bothers you guys with the ads, its not really a big deal just look at the posts in the thread not the ads

I don't know, I don't like the "quick reply" button must be pushed before you can type. It's wider, and not as smooth. I'm not feeling the Usernames in black. I don't know, I'm not feeling it. One of TLFs best qualities was its overall feel, I'm sure this may help it run "smoother" from a mod standpoint, but from a user standpoint, I am deffinitly not feeling it. And its the user that should have the say, since we are the majority.

Yah I'm not sure how I feel about the post count, after my 2 year hiatous it just isn't where it should be haha. Also my screen sometimes turns white (still has writing but the background turns white). Not sure what that's about....

no we are stuck with this same exact format for the rest of our TLF lives (10)... I'm sure the mods will work out the bugs that need to be worked out, and smooth out the features that need to be smoothed out.

I guess I can get use to it. On my screen there's a lot of empty space on the right side and that is going to annoy me. And I know this site is IL ran, but I'm not a big fan of the IL toolbar across top. Weren't post counts gone for good? What happened to that plan.

Yeah smooth i got the huge right side bar too. I like how posts are now numbered which is convenient when referring to a thread. Quote boxs in different colors are cool too. Posts counts should have NEVER came back. Quality posting is about to go right out the window.

I couldn't sleep so I turned on my computer, and went to the bathroom. I came back and clicked on the bookmark to TLF and walked away. When I came back it was in the new format. I almost thought it was a dream. If it'd been gone it would have been a nightmare.

i like this idea. but they definitely need to make it so we can see our own. and like most people said it's not as slow for me.

Post count isn't gone. Click on their name and it shows you in their profile. And has the posts per day.

Actually, you can still see other people's post counts, but you have to view their profile. I actually kind of like that idea. Unintentional or not.

How do you "mark posts read" when you click new posts up at the top and have read all of the ones you wanted? That feature been taken out?

O I just found something I dont like, when you go into a forum, it doesn't tell you who posted the last message. And since there is a slower loading time, it stinks going into a certain thread to see that your post was the last

I'm not sure whether i like this seeing as how i'm a relatively new user and I wasn't really used to the old format, but this one takes a good amount of time longer to load the icons on the page.
