training shafts

i play defense, and want to get quicker on my checks over the off season. is the training shaft a good buy for a defenseman?

no. it's a waste of money. go out and buy either a woodie, cause you can use that in a game, and it's strong and durable. a cheap Al shaft and fill it with sand.
either way you get more for your money and in most leagues you can't use a training shaft. i use a woodie in games every now and then when you need to be the enforcer and it's very sturdy and i highly recommend one
