The G22 head is supposed to be the lightest on the market weighing in at 115 grams.

Overall: new colored shafts are pretty sweet. Not liking the pinch of the G22 and Xcaliber. The new High Def Polymers on the new G22 line is promising. It's supposed to be ultra light weight, be more shock abosorbent, mold to your body, and not absorb any moisture. Also the palms seem to be all mesh with lines up rubber mesh so they should have a great feel. The new shoulder pads remind me a lot of the choppers it seems like they could be good or pad. Also the entire G22 line is coming with the new High def polymers.

wow....stx really got creative with their new heads....

Brandon303
07-10-2007, 05:32 PM
The Zirconium 7 looks sick, too bad they used such a weak (in comparision to Ti) alloy. They should have made a Scandium or Titanium version of the 7, which would make it a big seller (and would become a rival to the SC21 Air).

The new Xcal is sick and I think will be the best seller of heads this year (like the Clutch was last year).

All in all, pretty stellar line-up.

laxmiddie11
07-10-2007, 05:39 PM
ESPN- Imagine were the black is being part of the head and the shaft goes all the way up to there. If that makes sence.

eastonlax-it says
The X2 is back.
-Updated design combines the best of the X2 with today's advanced features.
-STX's classic trestle sidewall provides extra stiffness and stringth for solid checks and defensive play.
-STX Forward Cant for quicker passing and shooting.
-Aerodynamic, detached sidewall and stop design takes out excess weight and reduces ball rattle.

07-10-2007, 05:42 PM
Does anyone else think that the G22 could have been alot more creative in terms of sidewall look? I know they are only so many sidewall desgin options, but it looks alot like the excalibur series.

The goalie option for k18 and I-pro is a good step in the right direction for glove sales.

like brandon said its a pretty stellar line up, cant wait to see the real deal.

Weighing in at 4oz. We will have to see if the G22 head will break like no other or not. If it is atleast slightly durable, it will probably become a success just because of its lightness.

WOW! I've always wondered why there were no solid colored Ti shafts...hmmm, good for stx to be the first. I also like the looks of the Gold Scandium.(I love gold shafts). Xcaliber looks good on the surface, wonder how it'll perform...

LaxDman62
07-11-2007, 01:18 AM
The g22 head looks kinda brittle since there is little plastic.

Out of the stuff I would get the xcalibur, g22 gloves, and one of those sexy colored shafts.

no offense but pics with a camera arent that great unless you have awsome picture taking skills...

i just emailed STX about a catalouge (like they told me to do a few weeks ago) and when i get it, i will get clear pictures up for the people who did not ask for a catalouge.
now i gotta get brines, gaits, and warriors.

PDLAX1337
07-11-2007, 08:32 AM
the only thing that im interested in is the zirc 7 with the ridge handle

I tried it out at a jamboree. It was pretty light and the ridges (which take up less than half of the shaft if i remember correctly) add some nice grip to it. STX has drill holes on both ends so you can mount a head on whichever side of the shaft you like better.

im deff gonna buy me a Sc+ti with those ill new colors! im psyched. and the G22 gloves look very similar to g-forces but i still think they look really cool. plus most of the new G22 pads resemble the K-18 line. are they going to be cheaper then K-18...kinda so kids can wear pads like the k18 line?

Laxmiddie, I can't see clearly from your pix, but are the palms of these gloves mesh? I have an old pair of Ignitor gloves from STX that I just love, but need replacing (could never get used to the feel of leather palms and fingers). I was just wondering if you could give me that info, since you're the one with the magazine. Thanks.

My guess would be Gary Gait, since he wore #22 throughout his career. Much like the K-18 gear relates to Kyle Harrison.

I think the new XCalibur will disappoint many people. The reason it was so popular was for defense, but now it has been lightened up for middies? Defense won't want something brittle and middies don't really use X2s as it is, let alone the new one...

Cool Sc+Ti's. I have one right now and love it, now in colors!?!?!?! NO WAY!

"There" is a lot of difference.

The G22 is on a Crankshaft...X2 is not.

The G22, while it looks similar, is not the same as an X2 "but just lightened up".

The Excalibur will be more like the original Excalibur than the X2, hence, Excalibur.

Less offset and lighter (supposedly).

at the championships in baltimore there was a place called laxfest, and play-it again sports was selling colored stx scandium shafts before the came out. you could tell they were proto-types though, because he said that they were straight from the STX wearhouse with no labels. they still had the same feel as the scandium, so i know they weren't lying

That is what I had posted. I feel that because lots of people grew up with the X2, one of the best D Heads available, the slim and trim lightweight Xcalibur and G22 will disappoint most to say the least.

People who say the X2 will be cheaper probably will have to eat their hat because stiff and lightweight do not go together. The lighter the head, the less plastic. The less plastic, the less stiff it is. The less stiff a head is, the easier it breaks.

As for the X2, they will probably hold their value as they become harder and harder to find. I have a brand new one and someday I might sell it. :guns:
