Yeah.. it is a nice check. But throwing a check (especially like that one) at goal line extended is possibly the dumbest thing you could do as a defensemen.

It's straight, if he would've missed his goalie would save whatever shot was coming. The hurricanes entire team was sick
yeah those connecticut hurricanes are nasty one of them is going to duke

It's a sick check but it's still not the smartest play... but it looks like they are in the Hurricanes offensive end.

If i threw that check, even if I landed it, my coach would shoot me. He's told me this on many occasions.

haha, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a LSM riding after they lost the ball?
EDIT: but why would a LSM be on offense? eh, whatever, still a sick check

doesnt longpole play for the hurricanes
The canes are on offense, that pole threw that check behind the back, if you look, you can see he's one the holding the stick.

Its because the one defenseman who i believe is pictured is the same one who at the gait cup would constently be on offence but he was the fastest guy i have ever seen. However I was sitting next to one of the hopkins coaches and he said that they don't like poles who constently try to play offence.

That's not a pole.... that sticks a little short to be a pole... plus like i said before, the hurricanes are on offense

yea hurricanes are on offense west coast starz are on defense haha not that complicated ....it confusing cuz the kids pole are the same colors as the team

the hurricanes guy is an attackmen....the westcoast starz guy is a dpole, he plays at bishops in san diego and is headed to UNC

the west coast dude threw the check behind his back, checking the canes stick out of his hand. if you look, the cane isnt holding the orange stick, its resting on his hand, and behind the cane there is a blue glove holding the orange stick, so the cane was on offense, and the west coast dude was on d.

why does the west coast guy have an orange and green stick though
there are two possibilities..
1) he is an undercover canes dude, and he is secretly helping the canes win by playing crappy d
2) he killed one of the canes defenders by hitting him in the face with a brick, and then took his stick to show how tough he is, and how the canes shouldnt mess with him.

Yeah, the west coast kid threw a rusty gate that yardsaled the Connecticut kid. Dumb play on the west coast players part, he's lucky he landed it.
Anyone else absolutely LOVE Hurricanes gloves? I would buy a pair in a heartbeat, especially if it had the team Ireland logo on it (from last years world games).

that pole on the canes was so dirtttttttttttyyyyyyyyyyy he was unbelievably fast and threw that crazy rusty gait in the all star game and actually hit it
the next 'one'
07-12-2007, 12:41 PM
thats insane.
what i dont get is why is the goalie standing like that. if the hurricanes guy was curling around the crease, shouldnt the goalie have been ready for the shot?

Yeah, he's insane. He had like 29 goals last year and a good amount of goals his sophomore year, and as a freshman he scored 5 goals on varsity. But yeah, that is a nasty check.

Theres some Dpole on 'canes heading to Duke who throws an absolute crapload of rusty gates, he forces his man to the corner of the field, gives him some rome to run, and throws a rusty gate.
