(I hope this is the propper thread, and if it's not please move it.)
I just got back from a lacrosse camp in lake forest where Brian Silcot (Coach of the dragons) and Andy Hayes were the coaches. Coah Andy introduced me to this amazing game called "Trash Can Lacrosse." Here are the guidelines/ Rules:
Supplies:
-One regulation trash can, preferably the grey plastic ones
-Two teams of three
-An object (we used a cone) placed about 10 yards from the trash can
-A tennis ball
Basic Game Play:
-One team is on offense (3 players) and the other team is on defense with one man in goal. It's basically a 3 vs. 2. shooting on the trash can.
Rules:
-We played with sticks and gloves so minimal stick checking was allowed, but if you want to play with full pads go right a head, otherwise, no checks.
- There is no endline, so on a shot the ball is in play. Pretty much there is no out of bounds.
-Goalies can not have their butt below the trash cans top rim (can placed on side) other wise anything else is legal.
-Once a team loses possesion the opposing team takes the ball 10 yrds back and then can resume play.
- If the goalie makes a save but his butt is below the top rim, or someone full out body checks someone, they result in a penalty shot.
-Penalty shot: Person sands at the marker and shoots the ball once.
And finally the most interesting rule: The games are played to one. But who cares, play to 100.
This is a really cool summer game and best of all its fun, competitive, and all you need is a trash can, six guys, and a tennis ball.
Hope you all enjoy it, i shure did.
