I was wondering whether the STX Ti is the strongest or the Ti Pro. I'm playing varsity and a friend recommended that I get a stronger pole than my klyte. I'm not actually shopping, just gathering information, thanks.

If you wanna get technical, the Fatboy is the strongest Ti shaft.

The STX ti has a better warranty because it actually...uhm...HAs a warranty. And it is one piece construction. I still have my STX ti pole from 6-7 years ago, and a STX ti shorty from 4 years ago. Both are in good condition. i dented a warrior titan pro with a harrow so that will tell you how resistant to denting they are...

Warrior Ti sticks are known to break much easier than STX/Brine Ti's. This is just from personal observation, I have no hard evidence to support this. I also find it fishy that warrior doesnt have a warranty on them.

the stx ti is the strongest titanium. my friends ti pro bent and has huge dents in it. all of our poles have stx ti's and they loves them.

Original Warrior Titans were beasts, took dings very rarely. I don't know if the equivalent now (Titan Classic) is still as strong. Titan Pro is relatively weak, reports all over that they dent/break. I don't know anything about the durability of the debeer titaniums either. Plus, the Mohawk titanium (is it a true titanium?) supposedly is heavy but strong ala wood/Fatboy.

Dude, a klite is strong enough for varsity. It will probably break right before the warranty runs out too. They very nice like that.

You know what's funny? Used to be that Warrior Ti was far and away the best in the lax market. As most of you know, Warrior pioneered the way for Ti shafts and practically created the premium shaft market. Before Warrior (pre-1993) a premium shaft meant buying a Crooked Arrow woodie for $30.

So Warrior Ti was the first and the best. After observing Warrior's early success, STX entered their own Ti offering in 1994. Warrior used drawn, seamless tubing (what shiftylax refers to as one-piece construction) and US refined and certified Ti from the beginning. STX's first Ti shafts were seamed and made of imported Russian Ti. Both were inferior cost cutting measures. These first gen STX Ti shafts can be distinguished by their slight gold hue vs the industrial grey color everyone is familiar with.

The early STX Ti's broke and dented a lot more frequently than Warrior's which helped Warrior solidify its reputation. After a couple of years of unsuccessfully trying to defend the 'merits' of imported Ti, STX relented and began putting out Ti shafts that were more or less identical to Warrior's (around 1996-97).

If you're wondering what Brine was up to, they spent the mid-90s bad-mouthing Ti and peddling their shafts made different materials. Some of those panned out (F-15) while others fell by the wayside (carbon & Kevlar). Brine didn't join the club until 1998-99 when they finally put out their own Ti shafts. Keep in mind they were resisting for over five years.

So I find it highly ironic now that Warrior no longer offers one year warranties on all their Ti shafts while STX still does. And based on many anecdotes, like the ones in this thread, STX's have a better reputation than Warrior's. So in a small way, STX has beaten Warrior at their own game - a game that Warrior invented.

BTW, I have a Warrior Titan from 1995 (they only had one model back then) on my #1 stick that has yet to see a dent. And ten yrs ago, a Titan D-length cost $95 but was still over twice as expensive as anything else on the market.

I wish I had a Ti shaft. STX Ti are like tanks, and light ones too!
but warrior ti pro's are just too thin!

Ummm..... The titan pro is so incredibly weak, yes it might be light but I can check mine with half force and it dents, i reccommend getting a cu 31 or kryptolyte or other cheap light stick at most lvls of lacrosse you dont need a strong stick. If one breaks just buy another one hence getting a CHEAP light shaft

Mohawk and Fatboy are the strongest by far. I don't think the Fatboy is manufactured anymore, though...

I have a klyte, I'm just gonna use that till it dyes, then I'll probably get an 803, Ti's aren't necessary at a HS level. Anyone know if theres a warranty on klyte poles?

i have never seen a Debeer Ti Triax ever have a dent in it. i have 4 friends that have been playing with there's since they first came out and still not a single dent to date. i have always had great luck with the Triax but if you're only looking at STX/Warrior/Brine i guess this doesn't matter
