Is it harder or tougher to get recruited as a midfielder, and what are the main attributes looked at when recruiting a midfielder.

Speed, Size, Skills.
Speed kills. Size Helps. Skills make you a fine toned machine.
They want the most athletic players playing Midfield. They want work-horses. They want someone who would do anything for the ball.
Ehh, And it's probaly equally as tough, maybe easier, since there are 3-ish lines of middies.

i'd have to say speed then skills then size. You need to be the guy who's athletic enough to make the play on defense then have the skills to convert on the offensive side of the ball.
Now to the question of recruiting it is probably harder because despite the 3ish midfielder lines, there are so many other prospects. however, being an athletic midfielder who has skills in all aspects of the game(off, def, and transition) shows versatility and is benificial if the player is willing to switch positions
