honestly, I hear this word all the time and nobody has given me a real definition of it. ARGH! :banghead:
does more shooting strings make more whip? or less?
and what is it?

Wow man, tighter shooting strings generate more whip generally, Its when the pocket is higher up and during the release of the ball the ball sort of catches on the tight strings causing it create "whip".

yeah, the technical definition is probably when the ball's exit of the pocket is delayed or prevented by the hold of the shooting strings. More whip makes the stick throw down, while less makes it release higher and quicker. Girls sticks vs goalie sticks are probably a good comparison. Girls sticks have little to no whip, so you can't bring the stick back very far, and it has a very quick release. Goalie pockets, you have to wind up a ton to release it well.
