Am I the only one that is required to type in those dumb image verification boxes just to make a search ?

you mean every time you type somethign in the search bar you have one of those "Pleas type in the letters/numbers from the box below?" and it's like hasef83hja in weird colors and shaped?

It's when your not logged in. It's a capatcha to stop spammers
why cant scammers search?
or how does i work in preventing scammers?

Not scammers or really spammers either. It's to prevent automated bots from using up our resources.
