The other thread was getting to the point were all people talked about was spoilers and things like that.
10 hours 40 mins wooh
this is for discussion only!!!!!!

if a mod could delete all spoilers that get posted that would be excellent

The reason I stayed away from the other thread was for that very reason. I've added a NO SPOILERS to the thread title should that not be clear enough.
My family has the book on pre-order through amazon, so either my mom or I will get first crack at it since we're the only ones who read fast enough.

Ive heard of people going to the midnight with shirts that show the spoliers. Also some drive by and play a cd giving away what happens at the relase. I think this is halarious since people make such a big deal out of it.

I will kill them, If some one ruins this for me, after waiting like 10 years or however long since the first book came out, I will literally killl them. Im bringing my lax stick, and if someone starts a sentence containing a spoiler, there getting a swift poke check to the larynx...

I heard last year when people were in line to pick the book up, some people got the book and ran down the line saying Dumbeldore dies! Dumbeldore dies! ( Note, This happens in HBP, but I'll still put it in white just in case. Highlight to read) I found that funny.
But yea, I can't go with my sister to get it at midnight because I have a tourny, (So she is going by herself) but I'll read it when i get home.

i'm going into a kroger at midnight because they arent having a release party... thus im less likely to have it spoiled.. i really will kill anyone who even mentions it
anyone ever see that scrubs episode where dr. cox spoils "the 6th sense" tro the janitor... i love that show...

You guys do know when I typed up that thing in the other thread I wrote in white "Im just joking" in white. You would have found out if you saw the empty space/quoted me.
-edit I just made the whole thing up about the ending in other thread, looks like a mod deleted my white and wrote spoiler lol....
Just finished the book, the last chapter was really corny, it read like a children's book. This is my least favorite book in the whole series. The book had parts that dragged on and on while other parts were "poof" heres a major fact that comes out of no where.

I am still gonna get the book though.
My main fear is that it seems kinda over-hyped. But still I'm excited to read it.

the library takes so long to get one and its much more fun to own it
i leave for the beach on sunday so i think i might finish it on the beach and if something that i didnt want to happen happens it will prolly ruin my whole vacation so i hope that everything is good and the book isnt over hyped
Thank You to royce gracie for changing the title to help avoid any spoilers

But there was a comment left on that video that gave away the last line of the book. Granted I'm not as much as a HP fan as some, I was looking forward to reading this without knowing part of the ending.

My copy just came in the mail. I'd drop everything and read it right now, but I am so close to finishing 2 other books and my Mom did ask for first crack (and I'd like to think I'm a good son) that I'll leave it until later in the week when she's done.
For those of you who enjoy tales of modern day magicians I recommend two other more adult targeted options if you still have the magic bug after finishing the HP series.
1) Sergey Lukyanenko's Night Watch tetralogy (it predates HP by about a year or two). The first 3 book have been translated into english (Night Watch, Day Watch and Dusk Watch, I have no idea if and when Final Watch is coming stateside) and feature tales of Others, Magicians, Witches, Vampires, Werewolves, Demons and such living in modern day Moscow waging on both sides of an ancient cease fire. The Night Watch (Light) and Day Watch (Dark) both police the treaty (apart from the mysterious Inquisition) and you never really know whose schemes and intrigues are really within the boundaries of right and wrong. The first novel was also made into 2 movies that saw limited release here in the states, but are both very well done (titled Night Watch and Day Watch, though the second has nothing to do with the eponymous 2nd book).
2) There is always room for DC/Vertigo's John Constantine: Hellblazer. A very cynical tale of modern day magic (I'd also recommend Fables since it's fairy tales with a modern/grown up twist). Skip the movie though, it was nothing like Alan Moore's vision (again...) although the Night Watch movies and novels are very close to the feel of the comic.

i thought i was going to be...but this book was just...well, beautiful. it was theperfect way to end it. it didn't feel forced or anything. there was just....closure. this is by far my favorite of every book.
*EDIT* I did think the denouement was uneccessary and kind of cheesy though.

i agree with fitz, the book was amazing, just the way the ending should be, but the last chapter was corny. i would have preferred another chapter about the rest of that final day, and watching individuals' relationships bloom...if youknow what i mean ;)

This book is pretty intense front to back. I started it not knowing what to expect, and it quickly reminded my of why I enjoyed this series so much and then some. It gripped me from the second I tore open the package in which it came. It definitely completes the series without a doubt.

Oh come off it, the epliogue was good. They aren't going to write in ron and hermoine gettin freaky with it on a broom stick or somethin like that. I'm surprised she put a cuss word in it at the end like that but it definitely game it some emphasis and followed the lines along a darker book.

yeah i finished it sunday afternoon about 4 or 5 pm and sat there depressed, mad that it was over, but pumped with the ending, i loved the book best one by far...except litttle upset about the epilogue, was hoping to find out more about what harry did for a living, how everything else was getting along, who was raising Teddy, lupins son just some loose ends...otherwise great and i too plan on rereading them all..funny how i hate reading too

It was an awesome book. IMO it's the best book of the series. It really kept my interest the whole time once the plot got going.
